For a company that records and releases so much video content, you’d think they would have their GoPro angles dialled! A ditch the chest mount for chin mounts, or if it has to be chest, at least point it up and give us a better view that the top tube!

I don't want an emtb (yet!), at 53yrs old I still have enough in the tank to do all day epics. I do however watch EMBN as I find it interesting and love the presenters, but I do feel that more and more GMBN are shoving emtbs down our throats, surely this video should have been on the EMBN channel.

AWESOME. The interesting thing about the e bike versus a non-pedalec push bike in this type of situation is that the speed and time will only be relative to the effort a regular mountain bike will not be harder, in relation to the effort. I guarantee you that HR and Max VO2 will be the about same. It's the speeds and times that will be different. People that say e-bikes are cheating are fairly ignorant. If you're riding on a flat piece of ground with no wind of course the e-bike is much much easier and your effort will be less with higher speed. it also depends on the mode of the motor. Put in a race situation with undulating terrain and obstacles to maneuver it is not any different in relation to effort

It's a race, there are jumps...plus I guess he wants to keep his face intact after that horrible road bike crash a few years back. :)

@@darnokregrer3575 I’m not arguing with your logic but it’s not a serious competition. No one else is wearing full face and we all want to protect ourselves. I’m still curious why Neil made that choice. I think it’s good one. With the development of the best tech in protection why is he the exception and not the rule? I’m simply looking for a good answer to that question. It’s not as much about Neil as it is about the others.

Simple answer. EMBN has Bell as a partner for helmets and my open face didn’t show up until the week after the race. Although I quite liked having the full face to be honest

It's always very present in videos featuring e-bikes of any kind, while in reality the actual "whine" almost fades into the background for me, really. And I ride a lot of non-motorized bikes as well, so it's not like it's a mental habit, it's just a lot less invasive than most vids would have you believe.

Hi Benjamin, GMBN rides for POC but Neil works across both channels and was on EMBN duty on this day as it's for an EMBN video (that's out on Sunday) and was riding an EMBN bike. He mentions it in the but hopefully, that clears it up as it's a little confusing as this is a vlog from an EMBN video shoot. 🙂

Can you soup up an e-bike motor to make them more powerful? Cos assuming e-bike racing becomes popular (if it isn’t already, I don’t know), people will always cheat to gain an advantage. Turn up with a more powerful motor = advantage over the other racers surely?
