Appreciate your honest that even with your experience that some times a redo is a not a bad thing and you end up with a master piece. Absolutely gorgeous.

So glad you did it over for 2 reasons. 1. You shared with us that you too can change your mind about a project that you were not 100% happy with. You did not need to share but you did. That made me like you guys even more! 2. Love the redo!!! Can you do a live segment of all the colors of paint you sell? Not just a sample but an item, like Easter eggs or something Spring. Like flower pots, etc.

Wasn’t feeling the first color option but you weren’t finished so I knew you would do something great with it and you did even though it wasn’t your first vision. It turned out beautiful. I paint furniture for my house and sometimes this happens to me and I get frustrated and walk away from my piece for a couple of days and once I start painting with fresh eyes it all comes together and it’s beautiful. So thanks for this video cause it reminds us that we are not alone and that it’s just paint and paint can be painted over😊 love your guys work.

Ok, I have to ask the kitchen question....I love the work you create, the friendship and partnership you’ve developed as you’ve grown together in marriage, business and life BUT how do you work in your kitchen, painting, creating, moving things around and still feed your family. I confess to being in awe of the two of you and this question haunts me lol. I’m not sure why except maybe the realization that I couldn’t do what you are doing AND feed my family. Any hints or suggestions would be appreciated because I love the idea of being in the heart of our home and not buried in the garage or basement all of the time. Thank you for your generosity as you share your lives and passion with us.
@JamiRayVintage5 жыл бұрын
It usually takes us about an hour or so to finish a project together and then we move it somewhere while it’s drying. The kitchen is a nice bright place to craft and film until we find the means to afford a studio of some sort. Most of the kids are at school all day and we usually don’t do many projects on the weekends so by the time they’re home and hungry it’s usually cleaned up. 😊

Jami Ray Vintage...and you read and reply to our messages. Seriously - ROCKSTARS!! Honestly though, your kids are benefitting from watching you work together, create something together, all while loving and caring for them and each other. I’m sure it’s not always easy but you are proving it is worth it to follow a dream. Thank you for sharing so much of yourselves with us. We are all learning something new with every video! Cheers!

Question regarding DIY paint: I was using the White Swan to paint a figurine and as I was painting over some spots I missed, the paint began coming off. I know I was obviously doing something wrong but not a clue what. Please advise. As an aside, I was using the Zika palm brush. 😊
@JamiRayVintage5 жыл бұрын
It’s easy to over work DIY paint before it’s been sealed because of the clay base. When second coating go over the spots it’s lighter once or twice and then wait for that to dry again. By the time you brush it a 3rd or 4th time the first coat will have reactivated and you’re stuck waiting for that to dry again. It doesn’t do it on every piece but anything that’s shiny or glossy should be approached this way.

I think it turned out fantastic!! I watched your live when you were working on this and was looking forward to seeing the final outcome. Then I saw your pics of this on FB and thought, oh wow, she decided to totally change it up! 😍 I'm glad you did! It looks so awesome! One question... I've done many transfers and have always applied them before sealing. I was always told that transfers should be applied after the paint was completely dry, but before using poly. (Or any other sealant.) I noticed you painted, did poly, applied the transfer, then applied poly again. Is this process how you always do transfers? Thanks Jami!!

Ohhhhhh man oh man ohhhhhh man. I love love love this piece now. Didn't care for it before although I liked the stamp part. This is just fun. So, can I do a white wash over SPMP after it's been liquid waxed IF I use some mineral spirits or something to get off some of the wax. Or just use some more SPMP in a white. I want to do it over the Patina color. Actually, I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do to my table to just soften up the color. This is sooo pretty. Love that transfer! Hi...this is beautiful!!! So my question is after you painted and didn't like it...did you re-paint over a wax or top coat finish? Or does that need to be removed before you start with another chalk paint?
@JamiRayVintage5 жыл бұрын
Wax should be last, we hadn’t waxed it yet so we painted over it.
@iisapena74345 жыл бұрын
Yes. I know. I hated it after the wax finish thinking the colored wax finish might fix what I disliked but it didn’t. So I was curious if someone else painted over wax or if it should be removed.
@JamiRayVintage5 жыл бұрын
I’ve painted over wax before, usually it’s been waxed for several months before I do it though. You can clean wax off with mineral spirits or light waxing.
