That’s cause by law, recalls r expected to be sent back to the suppliers if they want a refund. Most stores want their refund. So, it would be super rare for a recall item to be found in the dumpster. An employee could be negligent tho.

I’m sorry but that’s not all totally true a lot of the times and like 90% of the times you don’t send it back to get a refund from the company. They don’t pay for shipping things back to them and they tell you straight up to dispose of it at store level.

Great summer time drink score for kiddos!! TIP for getting kids to drink flavored sparkling water….add a flavor pouch to them for a sweet sparkly drink. We buy the $1 boxes in DG by the dozens in summertime to push kids to drink more water and so much sparkling water ends up in dumpster and many hate the taste but add a lemonade flavor pouch and it’s delicious or fruit flavor pouch to the strawberry sparkling water. Try and mix and match flavors for fun flavors. It’s like sugar free soda

I had a couple residents with our big van out for a doctors appt. We drove the back way and noticed an office chair a resident wanted for his desk. The Manager from our local dollar store was next door and she asked if I wanted to back our van up to the door as she had something for me giggling. She knew our facility. She and one of the workers brought out cases of cereal, sauces, veggies, juices, you name it we filled the van up. She was so excited she didn't have to throw the food out and spray with black spray paint. We had shorts and t-shirts we used for new clients who had been homeless for pj's. Socks, underwear too. She would call me when they had a load after that. Our facility was closed so she now just sets the stuff out the back door and it's always gone. She said she refuses to spray with the black paint as it get's all over their dumpster and the staff.
