Hi Marina we once told you about the diesel bug in our engine. We went through four years of hassle replacing parts and getting mechanics until just as we were to sell , a surveyor said that ex hire boats clean out the engine tank every 2 years . We discovered we had about 5 cm of sludge at the bottom of the tank which caused all the problems . As soon as that was cleared no more engine starting problems. I wish we had been told earlier 😤

Hi Miles. When you've put the oil filter in & filled it with oil start the engine for a few seconds switch off &recheck the level because then you will have filled the empty oil filter

The "rubber thing" is an "O" ring. It is disastrous, as you found out, if it is not installed with the filter. When installing the filter the O ring should be wiped with a light coating of oil.

Excellent vlogs you two produce… for engine servicing it’s also a good time to check belt tensions and their condition. Also recommend to have a spare set of belts and a spare fuel filter onboard. Best wishes and watching from Malaysia.

Just a couple of points. Beta do not make engine consumables like filters etc. They buy them in from manufacturers and pay a premium for having Beta printed on them. Equivalent filters are available from the likes of Fram, Crosland et al at more competitive pricing, and are probably the original makers. Second point, if you take your vehicle to a garage for oil change. How do you know what make or grade of oil has been used? If you need to subsequently top up do you go for the exact match? The only matter is mineral with mineral, synthetic with synthetic etc

Jolly good channel..look after your gearbox too.. normally service same time as engine with the same oil as the engine if it's a prm 150( which it looks like to me).. good luck in the future. .😊

Remember to check the oil again after a short run, because the oliefilter was not filled with oil at the start.
