I never new elk lined I. Texas until I almost drove into one late at night in west Texas near Iraan a big 6x7 bull standing right in the middle of the road. Thought I was dreaming. Cool to see you can hunt them out there.

Not on a texas license Elk are considered exotic. They can be hunted year round.

Yes. In Far West Texas the elk are free range and considered to be exotics. No season on them

@@serosedserio6531 yes sir they are. And there are some nice bulls. If I want to start an argument, I show an out of stater a pic of a 402 inch elk my friend harvested 6 years ago in the Davis Mountains. Many people don’t believe there are big free range elk in Texas

They must have implemented elk, don’t think they are native to Texas

They are were native. Texas treats them live exotics due to interbreeding with red deer so they don’t think they are pure elk

@@nicksummerfield5408depends where they are. Elk was a game animal till the 90s due to pressure from exotic ranch lobbyists, and the thought that elk competed with the desert big horn.
