Trump: People hated the man, but flourished under his policies and actions. Biden: People loved the man, but are suffering under his policies and actions. Contrarily, US Presidency is not a popularity contest, it’s a question of whom is more fit for this position. Some of the most hated leaders have rendered the best results in the World’s history. A leader’s job is not to pander for your admiration, their job is to move you forward as a nation, be it kicking and screaming or not. Trump did that. It’s not biased to say so when GDP and inflation data supports the claim.

I think it IS sadly a personality contest. Are you British? I'm American and I follow British politics. And I must say there is much more substance and talking about policy over there. That's kind of the whole Trump phenomenon. In 8 or 9 years, since 2015, the left has not bothered to analyze the policies and motivations for why people support Trump. Yes, the left is making noises in an election year about immigration. But that's what politicians do. They're great at saying they'll close the border for 40 or 50 years, and doing nothing. Saying they'll move the embassy to Jersualem, and not doing it. But anyways, my point is that actually we don't have proper discussions about policy in the U.S. If the contests ARE personality contests, this would explain why Obama was re-elected. And why Trump was voted out office. Despite every economic metric being down for the former and being up for the latter. The old "pocket-book issues prevail" has to be ripped out of all the textbooks as of 2012.
