One of our favorite neighborhoods in one of our favorite cities in Mexico. Quite green indeed. When we arrived back there our second time, I recall a sense of comfort washing over me during our taxi ride to our accommodation. That is how much we like it there. You made me miss practicing my Spanish on the streets. I was getting pretty good. Doesn't help us much in Southeast Asia these days. We enjoyed the dog park often and we don't even have dogs. It was almost like going to the zoo for us. We would sit there with coffee and pastries and watch the dogs interact with each other for a couple of hours. Nice looking Airbnb. Enjoy your time there.

I'm so sad I missed you two during my stay in la CDMX from 2019 until the beginning of this year. I got so absorbed in this video that when I looked up, I had forgotten for a moment where in the world I was. For groceries, check out Mercado el 100 in Roma Sur on Sunday mornings. Just be sure to ask for the price before deciding to buy something as some of their vendors charge a lot. I don't know if they speak English, but I bet most do. On an unrelated note, be prepared for where you're going to go if there's an earthquake. They have sensors that sound an alarm 30 seconds before the quake, but if you're on a high floor, you won't be able to make it to the street in time. The alarm is a loud automated male voice, and you'll hear all your neighbors running down the stairwell as fast as possible. Hope this helps. ¡Diviértanse!

We as Americans need to stop judging/measuring other countries by "our yardstick." The world has so much to offer. Loving it already. That supermarket was fabulously well stocked. I could see the most beautiful fish counter. The contrast with the UK could not be greater! I thought the city would be a sketchy and polluted place and not all that safe. I guess I should access a few more vlogs rather than get my pre-conceptions from Breaking Bad! The Airbnb looks epic. Such a huge amount of space. And yes, that bathroom facility is not quite my thing either. The toilet needs a quick upgrade with a coloured flat sheet held in place with tape. Or, as you say, you need some sort of managed process to help with the timetabling of visits. You don't want to double book! I took a look at the weather just now. It's kind of manageable as the BBC tells me that it's steady at 33-35 celcius but not falling below 24 C at night. I'd prefer a little cooler overnight but I guess you have to go with whatever the climate throws at you rather than dialing it in yourself in some weird thermostat kind of way. Thanks for the vlog!

Opps - you didn't mention the nightly/monthly cost of your Airbnb place: that's the 1st rule. :(
@OurFreedomYears2 жыл бұрын
We've got that in another video with all our other costs, going live on August 14th. 😊

Don't worry about the gentrification comments, I see it's just a lil vacation thing. It's is a problem for the locals who are earning in pesos. But enjoy your time there, que se le pasen bien amigas 🤠

Thought you would feel comfortable in Mexico City as opposed to your obvious disappointment in San Miguel. Enjoy.

You are talking about Roma Norte, BUT you're showing my neighborhood HIPODROMO. Hipodromo is in Condesa. Not Roma Norte. ??? pretty common for youtubers to walk around CDMX giving out info that is incorrect.
@pacoceja46592 жыл бұрын
all the parks you visited/talked about, are in Condesa.

Most of this video was shot at Calle de Durango and Valladolid, where our apartment was located 😊

just steps away from Condesa... and people don't realize they're no longer in Roma
@pacoceja46592 жыл бұрын
i think a good way to differentiate is by remembering, the fountains are in Roma and the parks are in Condesa.

It is indeed polluted and crowded!!! You do have nice content but it looks like a fairytale which CDMX is not. Had you used metro of CDMX? Any word on the airport? How far did you really go in Mexico city? Did you see Tepito, Ixtapalapa, ?
@OurFreedomYears2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! The airport seemed fine and we explored a number of neighbourhoods in CDMX.

Maybe you should send dogs' photo to the hosts when asking to stay, because they look like well behaved dogs.
@OurFreedomYears2 жыл бұрын
That's a great idea. I think it would help if the hosts could see how small and cute they are! 😊

When you go to El Zócalo (downtown), have breakfast at Sanborn’s de los azulejos, and lunch at Bar La Opera.
