Uta is a canon character. She was on Shanks' ship when they would come to Fusha village but at some point left. The events of the movie itself, the concert on Elgia are not canon. Also canon information that comes from this movie is that Roger found Shanks in a treasure chest while leaving God Valley and that Shanks is somehow connected to the Figarland family, which are presumed to be celestial dragons.

This is how I interpreted the movie and how Uta got to this point: Even after Tot Musica was defeated by Shanks 12 years ago, it still had some sort of connection to Uta, it had latched itself onto her. When she discovered the truth of what had occured thanks to the video transponder snail, that’s when Tot Musica’s plan was set into motion. It began influencing Uta in slight ways, such as nurturing and intensifying her hatred for pirates. This led her to wanting to create this “new age” that, although she may have genuinely wanted, she never would’ve went about creating the way she tried to in this movie if it weren’t for Tot Musica’s influence. Tot Musica’s end goal with all of this was obviously to be given form once again. I think that, if it weren’t for Tot Musica’s influence, Uta likely would have sought out Shanks and rejoined the Red Haired Pirates when she discovered the truth about what had happened on Elegia.

- Uta (voiced by Kaori Nazuka / Amanda Lee while the singing voice is done by Ado) age 21 (9 in the flashback while Luffy is 7), birthday October 21, blood type XF, height 169 cm / 5'6½”, ex-musician of the Red-hair Pirates (her as a kid on a pirate ship reminds me of Pippi Longstocking) now a famous singer or "diva" (“Utahime”), the daughter of Shanks, her name is the Japanese word for "song, poetry", with her sing combining with her wings reminds me of the infamous creature called the siren a woman & bird hybrid that lure sailors to their doom with their singing, & she has the Uta Uta no mi / Sing-Sing Fruit a Paramecia that grants the user the ability to bring others souls (explaining Sunny-kun) / consciousnesses into a world that the user controls with their songs (its a pink round Devil fruit with stripes like on Uta’s coat & the stem has a musical note) - In the dub movie there isn’t any English version of the song but Amanda Lee did make covers for the songs (they are great) - Gordon (voiced by Kenjiro Tsuda / Jim Foronda) is the ex-king of Elegia (which maybe a reference to elegy which are poems of lament & refection mostly about the dead) also known as the “Island of Music” that is located in a Calm Belt in the 1st half of the Grand Line (from Volume 4,000,000,000) - Speaking of Volume 4 Billion it gives some information on the Red-Haired Pirates like their fighting abilities which are shown a bit in the movie, but the most interesting is that after God Vally Shanks was found in a chest by Roger just like how he found Uta - Name characters in the movie: The pirates that tried to kidnapped Uta were called the Jellyfish Pirates with the captain being Eboshi, Hanagasa, & Kaginote (each of their name comes from types of jellyfish), the boy who has a job as a Shepard is Yorueka, the young girl with Uta like hair is Romy, the band on the stage are called Animal Band which the members are Blion on guitar, Girash on bass, Carpennya on drums, Slim is the DJ, & Dawson plays accordion (each member is named after a musician), & Uta’s backup dancers are Devilgirl & Peanutsmonkey - The director of this film is Goro Taniguchi who actually directed the 1998 OVA “One Piece - Defeat Him The Pirate Ganzack” which you can see him in the movie watching the concert (he has giant crab claws hard to miss him)

If you saw Rayleigh's face, that was a flashback from Shanks' mind. Roger found Shanks as a baby in a chest in the same place that Uta was found by Shanks, also in a chest. There was a fun moment where Roger was explaining to Buggy that he found Shanks in a chest as a baby to which Buggy responds, "I know how babies are made!" oblivious to the fact that it was actually truth.

So actually the were a few things people didn't want you to see get spoiled from this movie, not just gear 5! At one point the 5 elders are talking about Shanks's bloodline and they reveal his last name, suggesting Shanks having a much BIGGER place in this world besides just being a yonko. This is something that has only RECENTLY been revisited in the manga! Most of the crazy spoilers and hints are either manga only stuff that the anime hasn't touched yet, or stuff at the time that we didn't even know in the manga yet!

You should definitely watch all five or six songs ado the one who does the voice for Utah. My recommendation is when you're watching them put English subtitles on cuz every single one actually forms kind of a connection with their emotions. If you watch the movie, it's something that a lot of people don't get and the last video with her and the two girls I forget the name of it off top of my head. That's basically the ending song. But yes, English subtitles will help you big time on it and it's a good watch

This movie sits a bit weirdly in the One Piece canon. Uta and Film Red sorta lie in the same boat as Shiki and the Strong World movie, the events of the movie are NOT canon, however, Uta herself IS a canon character, her current whereabouts are just unknown at the moment. Her silhouette is shown in a manga panel alongside other people that are important to Shanks. It’s very likely that she’s still on Shanks’ ship, although I sadly doubt that she’ll ever appear in the manga or anime.

Something I haven't seen many people noticing or mentioning is that Luffy's eyebrows change in gear 5 to where they look like Sanji's but thicker. The swirl is JUST like the swirl on his devil fruit. So his drip and eyebrows change as well as the hagoromo(smoke clouds) around him change slightly. So it's more spoilery than say....the easter egg in the frame by frame of Luffy's charge sequence in episode 1069. To the point where some people that weren't caught up on the manga last year and were anime only were upset that it was spoiled for them that way before the anime showed it. Though I guess it varies person to person

im the ANIME ONLY fan that DOES NOT LISTEN to popular opinions because of that, i have enjoyed One Piece much more than most people nowadays like... i watch EVERYTHING on time OP + reading the titles + ED + previews i can proudly say that i have not been spoiled by the anime at all, and can prove it the only spoilers is when you go online ever since STRONG WORLD, you should watch the movies in their chronollogical release dates because they do follow the timeline, just like a flashback that did happen, but in the current time, is how you view it like the 3D2Y special that most people skip over, then watch it way later watching that, before the release date of the epi it corresponds to, made that epi hits so much harder you will know what i mean when you see the ending of 3D2Y, then the epi that was released that week ( or i think it was a couple of more epi ) plus, 3D2Y had one of the hardest hitting ending song a guarantee hit (＾＾ ) i can say the same about all of the movies after STRONG WORLD to the most recent one making the journey that much more amazing, and connecting things that not even manga readers know until they watch the movie making it fair for everyone to recieve the missing information at the same time

I mean, at the time, it was a debate as to how much it might be a spoiler... as it was more of an easter egg... but unbeknownst even to us Manga readers at the time, the movie held other secrets for the future of the series... I wouldn't say they are spoilers though.. I don't know, I really loved this movie... but I really wish somehow they had an extra 30-40 mins to just incorporate the filler episodes about the movie. I just feel like they add so much more emotional context to Luffy and Uta's bonds, (and really show they had a sibling-like relationship, and how your heart is broken when they were separated and your faith in Shanks really in question). It was just a really good filler. (Obviously, you both already watched it a long time ago)

This movie takes "place" (It's a non-canon movie) sometime after Wano. This isn't a spoiler but just a little detail that explains why the audience recognized and cheered for Coby. During 2 year time-skip, Coby saved a bunch of people and did an amazing job at some incident (Oda doesn't even reveal details about it in the manga, just says it's called the rocky port incident and Trafalgar Law was involved before becoming a warlord). He's become famous for being a marine hero like Garp. A good Marine.

IMO@@YaBoyRockLee It's better that you got a little upset about having to wait to see Film Red and thinking it wasn't worth it than to have you going into the Kaido fight expecting a transformation and waiting for it the same way you were waiting for the G5 spoiler. Sure you *Could* have been not paying attention and missed it since they do try to hide it, but that form was practically fresh in the Manga when this movie dropped. calling UTA a bad person is like calling Big Mom a bad person according to their philosophy, both are the ideal for peace and happiness but, being forced to accept the rules you make/apply it on everyone, is what is wrong UTA wants us to live in a world of joy and happiness ridding all that is evil just forever in bliss it may be acidize, but is that really wrong ?
