Great video of a stunning part of the country! Gorgeous house but I’m so happy you included the off grid home too because that really is so kiwi. You’ve brought back fond memories of an old friend, since departed, who at one time lived that way in the bush around Westport. His shower was outside, over a crevice in the rock which had glow worms on it! The best experiences often come from the unexpected places.💚☮️🇳🇿

Off to a great start with the journey. I'd be quite happy to spend a lock down in either of those places. I agree with you regarding the sea travel, when I was younger I always fantasized about travelling the world on a ship, only I wanted to do it on a rusty old cargo freighter, think I'd been watching too many Humphrey Bogart movies or something back then.

(August 1, 2022) Hi Alex! That house built atop a mountain is so beautiful. This is not to dampen the feeling of awe over the exceptional beauty of the scenery, but since NZ is within the ring of fire, is the South Island more prone to strong quakes than the North Island? If so, I suppose the beautiful house atop that mountain would be swaying in sync with the quake. Earthquakes and typhoons occur regularly in the Philippines since it also sits within the ring of fire at the western part of the Pacific Ocean, where typhoons (hurricanes) and super typhoons are birthed. Watching your videos gives me much pleasure knowing more about the beauty of New Zealand, especially after having watched the movie trilogy, Lord of the Rings. As you have encouraged your subscribers, I become more appreciative of geography as an excellent avenue to know more about other countries and their culture---through various educational and entertaining documentaries available at KZbin. Thank you and I appreciate very much your efforts to come up with a weekly video about your beloved homestead and New Zealand. My best wishes for your and Carrie's good health, for Lanka, Woolson, Waddles, Diego and Frida, the five "rebels", the two horses, the two geese, and the kitten. Your family is increasing fast! Hahaha! God bless.

Thank you and awesome move with the Manuka, but if it’s high grade save it for use on your skin. Carrie got a horrible burn the other night, we cleaned it and coated the burn in high grade Manuka honey then wrapped it in gauze, when we opened up the bandage the next day the burn was gone!!
