A huge proponent to this is the fact that they are in Miami. Everyone there has a lot of money, so standing out is difficult. It is a really unfortunate culture the city has created. It is a never ending cycle of wanting more & more. This is why the jewelry and watch industry flourishes in Florida. The flex culture is real and deeply ingrained into people’s lives there.

The big 4 make up the Swiss watches sold, but not the majority. What you are saying is wrong even though we all agree, that a watch should be a reflection of your own taste and shouldn't be a flex or investment. These are the wrong reasons to buy watches and do not make up the majority of watch sales.
