I will never be a customer of yours, I simply don't have the disposable income, however, you have inspired me to at least have nicer books. They may not be rare or valuable but they're mine, I like them, they look so much nicer on my shelves and I will enjoy the reading of them.

I found a gorgeous, very old German book (I live in Scandinavia) in one of the central book sellers' 'leftover bin', shelves and shelves of books that cost 2-8 dollars/euros/pounds each. I fell absolutely in love with its illustrations, and found that it was from the late 1800's! It was a huge tome of cultural history of the (at the time) uniting German states, and in slightly better condition, if sold in the right place, could be worth several hundred dollars/euros/pounds! Mine isn't in as nice condition, but is still a lovely, old, leather quarter-bound book. So please keep an eye out whenever you visit book sellers, they may have some gems lying around!😉 (One of my friends is still jealous that I got it for a bargain of about 1.5 dollars/euros/pounds.😂

Love books, collected them from a very young age. Unfortunately lost nearly my entire collection in the 2007 floods. Just have my Tolkien and Pratchett books left which were shelved upstairs. Have not really had the heart to look or buy many books since. Just found your videos, seeing all those shelved books around you brought tears to my eyes. Replacing material in the house was easy but my books brought back trips with family scouring through fairs and village hall sales, second hand shops. Books bought for me on Birthdays and Christmas. Think i will buy a book this weekend because of your videos.

Tom, if you put the camera on manual focus using the button, then zoom right in as close as you can at an object (I suggest a book!), focus, you'll find the camera will never go out of focus moving it around - just a pro's tip 4 you.

I just found you very recently on YT. I enjoy listening to how enthusiastic you are about books . Would like to see more videos of you showing us your oldest books and describing how the book was made and showing the details. Siena will be a great help to you. Please let her know that she has beautiful hair!! Congratulations to your daughter’s first birthday! FYI. Lucy Worsley, the TV presenter and historian loves Agatha Christie. You may want to get in touch with her to let her know you have rare Agatha’s books for sale.

So, your mention of Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam reminds me of a book that was in my great-grandparent’s smokehouse. It’s a hardcover of this book, probably from the early 20th century, that has been used as a scrapbook. Obituaries and country news and reprinted sermons have been cut out of the newspaper and pasted into the book. It covers the time period of the late 1920s through the 1930s (the Great Depression) and ends just a bit after WW2.

Start a patreon, you could just give little updates like a private social media or early access to videos and maybe the odd little one that doesn’t get posted to your channel. I feel like you would get good support through that because of your knowledge and openness, you’re a likeable person in a community with not many personalities fronting it.

Love your videos. And I love books. I am tracking down the owner of a book I bought for very little money but it has a plate with her name in, and a date of 1911. A school gift for Alice Dobbs. The local archive is helping and it's fascinating. I'm happy you're business is growing. You're brave to share your journey online. Congratulations to you all.
