One of the favourite memories of growing up in Delhi during the 90s was going to Nirulas with my report card to get a free ice cream sundae. They had this scheme for children who got 90% or more. After going there for the first time, they took down my address and sent a letter during my final exams for next year. It wished me luck for the exams and said they hoped to see me again to claim the free sundae. Nostalgia!!

Lime ice soda and Hot chocolate fudge from Nirulas are incomparable. No other ice cream maker has been able to match Nirula's hot choc. fudge, i have been eating since i was a kid. I remember Nirulas across my school, and you could have any ice cream for free if you scored over 90 in report card :P

Nirula's is my childhood!!!! My very first trip to the Nirulas was in Nursery coz they had a scheme for kids up to class 5 scoring 90% and above can bring their report cards and get any sunday/icecream shake for free. I ordered a biiig chocolate ice-cream shake--it was massive to my 3 year old eyes. I puked all the way back sandwiched between mom and dad in Dad's red Lambretta scooter. The last trip to Nirulas was more than a decade back in my college final year-three of us sharing a big HCF :)

I’ve heard so much about Nirula’s and I look forward to the Taste Test. All I remember of it are Delhiites being nostalgic and one reference in ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ where Neelam Mehra talks about Hot Chocolate Fudge.

Nirulas for the 90s kid from Delhi was like Pops from Archie Comics. We went there for the Big Boy Burger, Mutton Sausage Pizza, Banana Split and Soda pops. If you filled out their birthday forms, you got a free Ice Cream on your Birthday!!!! The decor had red couch booths, exposed big ventilator pipes in bronze, big white table just like an American diner. It was the vibe of the 90s.

The first Nirulas was near Gole Market. I have a childhood memory with the restaurant around 15-20 years back. They used to give free Triple Sundae to students who scored 90% and above in school. It was quite an expensive ice-cream at that time and was heaven!!

Nirulas was the 1st brand which popularized burgers in the 1980's at least in North India , there weren't any good burgers available at that time in Delhi , also probably in India ,love their Chicken and Mutton Chop and their version of the crispy fried chicken the most , unfortunately you didnt try their best product 🙃

FYI Nirulas was the first fast food restaurant in Delhi, it was the first restaurant to introduce burgers and pizza’s in Delhi NCR area. It’s not just famous for ice creams it’s also famous for its big boy burgers and its iconic mutton sausage pizza, hot numbers like chicken and mutton chop etc.

Nirulas for us is the best fast food chain when we were children. You should have tried their signature dish which are chilli chicken pizza ,mutton cutlet, hot chocolate fudge, fruit salad fudge. You have tried burgers and ice cream float which are super good.

I remember when I was young, my mom used to treat at Nirula's potpourri after good marks. We had to travel 250km for this treat. They had a very unique thing back then It was a salad bar back then. There were so many types of salads and soups and each one of them better than the other. Sadly, they killed the salad bar.
