if you guys want to have excellent halal pasta in Singapore 1. Kucina 2. Positano Risto, if you ever hit Arab Street again must try Murtabak Singapore both Zamzam and Victory, also nasi Padang Sabar Menanti and Warong Nasi Pariaman this are along North Bridge Road. Also if you head to East side like bedok and Tampines there are even a lot of halal option.

Alana, do you know that Singapore was a part of Malaya when it gained its independence from the British in 1957. When Malaysia is formed in 1963 with Sabah and Sarawak, Singapore was still a part of Malaysia. In 1965, they went separate ways, and Singapore gained its independence in that year.

@@AlanaDunsmore Wonderful. Singapore or Singapura was once an island called Temasek. Malaysia and Singapore parted ways because of unresolved disputed issues on national policies. If you came across 'expelled', it is a sound decision made by both leaders of the countries at that point in 1965 where Singapore gained independence from Malaysia. 😀

Stuffs in 7 Eleven and their competitor Cheers are expensive. For tourists, only go there if you are looking for sim cards top up and desperate for drinks or snacks. Else, look for kedai kopi or coffee shop or foodcourt for drinks and food (some will not have halal food). For Halal food and if you are at predominantly non-Muslim food courts, look for the MUIS Halal Cert. This Halal cert is mandatory to be shown in front of their food shops if they have applied for it. No Halal cert, not Halal. Even if they put No Porl No Lard, they are not regulated by MUIS and so their source of ingredients can be contentious (example, they say they serve only chicken or beef but patrons will not know how these animals are being slaughtered, whether they are slaughtered in accordance with Islamic method).
