There are over 2000 castles, chateaux, ruins and fortresses in the Czech Republic. We have a long history and I would recommend Prague to all tourists, but it is not the only one worth visiting. We are a small country, but historically, culturally and naturally rich. Look at the castles Karlstejn, Loket, Bouzov, Šternberk, Křivoklát....I can't list them all here, there are too many 🙂 Greetings from the Czech Republic.

Prague was bombed several times during World War II and there was fighting - for example, the Old Town Hall with its astronomical clock was almost completely destroyed and the astronomical clock was badly damaged. By European standards, the damage to Prague from the war was rather above average, and the same can be said about its history - but every disaster was always an opportunity for new construction. Bombing holes are everywhere in Prague to this day. The abundance of monuments does not stem from the fact that it was not affected by the war, but from the fact that it was a rich city for 1,000 years - for example, larger than London until the 16th century. The demolition of monuments in the 19th century played a major role - for example, almost all of historic Paris was demolished at that time and replaced with new construction, which fortunately Prague avoided to such an extent (mainly because it was not the capital at that time).
