***** I'm sure Google has invested hundreds of millions of dollars in a scam as well as Alibaba and lucasfilm and over a thousand other partners. Because that'd be really great for all those publicly traded companies to be investing in a product that's a complete scam. Just because they haven't released their product yet doesn't mean it's a scam. If you actually listened to what the creators of the company and product say they don't want to release it until it's perfect. And in case you want to know what it looks like look at their patents. They've already shown what it currently looks like and right now it's bigger than hololens but when it's done it will be a headset primarily of glasses and we'll have a secondary pack that you put on your arm almost like an iPod touch or something and that will be the power you in there or something else. Look at their patents if you want to see what direction they're heading in before you make some bullshit comment like it's a scam

The Holo Lens is way more advanced than the PSVR
@Hurileno8 жыл бұрын
+Jordan Myers What! The hololens isnt even in the same category to the PSVR
@monolith20018 жыл бұрын
+Jordan Myers Of course it is but HoloLens is AR, PSVR is VR. AR seeks to "augment" reality by bridging the virtual world with the real world. VR fully creates its world and puts you in it. There are pluses and minuses to each but Hololens falls more in the professional sector than the entertainment sector like PSVR. Putting Call of Duty (just an example) on PSVR is straight forward but making that kind of experience work on AR would be a very different kind of experience than the game currently is and honestly doesn't make a lot of sense for AR.

This is not just a future of computing but future of movie industry. In 5 to 10 years you will be a part of the virtual world. I think the goal for Microsoft is not to make hardware but holoLens operating system software with all those pattern re. APIs and then sell that to HW manuf.. That surface auto mapping feature is really cool :) I can´t believe Microsoft actually developed something that has potential. I guess we will have to wait 10 more years until this technology is on acceptable level for average user (with user friendly price :) but this is really great start.

+Ratul Minhaz because people already complained about that in the last Build, instead of this one. And we all know that this is just a dev-kit. Microsoft can easily expand that FOV, but they said that exciting the side of your visions too much may cause nausea or so. Who knows? Let's wait and see what developers will come up with, and cross fingers for the next version.

@chedder1408 жыл бұрын
+onlythistube the only problem with that is that there is no actual footage, its all fabricated, meaning that it could be worse than this and we wont know since they never make any updates for the public... the website is just lots of pictures and fake videos, so we cant determine which is better until magic leap actually comes out with a demo, like the hololens

Why would you pull up a browser for 3 seconds? What's the point? This video has been cut so much, it really doesn't show anything new. Can you read the god damn text on the browser? It looks like you have the browser window far away? Do you have to scale it up to fill the whole FOV to be able to read a webpage? Is working with text somehow good enough to replace your current monitor? How close to your eyes can you have the holograms? Can you have browser windows 2 feet from your eyes and read text clearly and comfortably?

Jason Hunter I think there are thousands of interesting, beneficial, entertaining, helpful, fascinating, intellect-enhancing uses for the HoloLens that we haven't even thought of, all of them practical. Pinning a browser window to the wall isn't one those ;-) I agree.
