Efteling is always magical, but in the winter it's like you're really visiting an enchanted place.

As for the Sandman story, when you wake up in the morning and you have a bit of that hard gunk in the corner of your eyes, we call that sleepsand. It's the resedue of Klaas Vaak (the Sandman's name)'s sand that he put in your eyes to make you fall asleep. The building on the lake is his sand castle.

I'm surprised you haven't heard of the Sandman, it's quite a common story in Britain as well. I've known it for a long time, there's even a Doctor Who episode loosely based on the story. 🙂 And the accommodation looks lovely, really pretty and peaceful. 👌

You know how little children start rubbing their eyes when they are tired? That's when the parents say: oh, the sandman just blew a little sand in your eyes so now it's time to go have nice dreams. And then the parents take the children to bed. That's basically how I know the folklore of The Sandman.

Bosrijk is better than Centerparcs! If I go to Efteling I always stay on site... When someone is feeling not to good, you have a private place to relax! Bosrijk is my favorite and we've stayed there 10 times, since 2011. Sometimes we combined our stay at Bosrijk with the funfairs at Tilburg and Uden ;-) I've stayed at every accommodation except the big 'Boshoeve' and my favorite accommodation is an 8 person 'Dorpshuys' or 'Boshuys'. The 'Landhuys' wasn't always a hotel; the first decade of it's existence it were apartments and that's why the rooms have separate bedrooms... BBQ is not allowed! The houses by the water are terrible in the summer, because of all the musqiuto's etc. When the sandman is performing his show, the owl used to go inside the castle ;-)

As “Efteling abonnementhouder” been there a few times. But to inform you: But the sign only is for if something of the bedding is missing you get charged 50.- so the nightcaps and booklet can be taken home. The castle hotel is perfect and in a quiet place at the edge of the terrain. But the houses are also nice. The “Efteling TV channel” is perfect for children, all the information and are on that. The pool is a bit small especially if you know that this is the only pool for the complete Efteling, but the theming is nicely done and also with interactive parts 🤭.

Great video! I stayed at Bosrijk just when you posted this video. It's such a lovely place to stay. The card at 17:25 says you'll be charged €50 if you take the duvet covers and that you can also buy these at the gift shop. You are allowed to take the sleeping hats and the little story book home with you :)

There is an event in Efteling which indeed is really called WinterEfteling and everything is pretty decorated and there is a ice-skating area with a snowy- uhm what's it called - ... a slide. And campfires and Christmas trees. It's amazing!

Another good & interesting vlog, really enjoyed and can't wait to watch day 2 in the park. Looked at the website at park map, big isn't it. I mean there is enough space to expand with rides, attractions and coasters in future. Wonder what will be new next? Hmm? By the way, I guess Ventriloquism is a dying art after all as was a bit disappointed to see that women with owl speak at same time when she moved that owls lips. Was expecting her to ventriloquist it and make the character come to life with her not moving her lips, making the owl speak via moving his mouth. Nice staff, but as bit of feedback, maybe have a ventriloquist operate owl character? By the way, with accommodation being surrounded by nature, I did suggest to the London Resort about maybe as an idea adding a village like this or Centre Parks on the nature areas? So then everyone has a choice of either staying in hotels on the theme park site or staying in amongst nature with birds, fish via lakes and more. But if happens, this is something we will have to keep an eye out for. Be good if that is and was something they added? But well see, but yeah really good vlog, cheers for creating. 😀👍

I think Taylor and the Joiners stayed in the cabins when they did their big Europe trip 4.5 years ago. I would probably pick this resort or a lower cost hub option that I could easily access Toverland too since both are on the outskirts of Eindhoven

For Efteling book a stay in Bosrijk or Loonsche Land (a bit cheaper, but still in the resort). For Toverland better to stay in another accommodation closer to the park. Eindhoven is still 40-50 minutes drive. There are much better options.

Shawn and Charlotte just managed to watch the 2ND half of your Eftelling accomodation your hotel room tour, your rõõm looks really nice great options for food from the app and rõõm Delivery request. Unfortunately for Me and my Folkies we always got to have an entire bathroom suite including a clean fully functional toilet bath and shower as we’ve got serious health conditions mine is (IBSD- Irritable Bowel Syndrome Disease, my Folkies CROHN’S and COLiTIS where the ulcers in our intestines has an extreme attendencies of attacking itself however I Will spare and won’t share any of the real graphical inside information with you which I assume you get the gist lol 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😄😄😄😁😁

I do hope you get an olie bol as that is the real winter holiday specialty , its the ancestor of the donut only predating it in to germanic times. . Nice warm fried bolls of dough. with powderd sugar. Nice and warm frech at the stands.

Typical Dutch breakfast is simply a loaf of bread with a topping, usually cheese, meat or hagelslag (chocolate sprinkles). This explains why there wasn't a lot of warm food in the breakfast restaurant/cafeteria thingy.
