We STOLE and Revived a 1947 Ford Custom - Ultimate Surprise

Our good friend Pete Trumbauer has always been a huge supporter of everything we do, has helped us on a bunch of adventures, and he is always a wealth of knowledge. Pete owns a killer 1946 Ford Convertible, that was chopped and customized in 1948! Pete has owned the car since the 80s, and had it on the road from 1999 until 2014 when he lost spark when driving to Wheels of Time car show. Pete tried to get it back up and running but he was unsuccessful and he lost motivation. Today we are going on a secret mission to steal the car from Pete's garage, with the help of his family, and get it running, so its one step closer to being back on the road.

I must confess , Matt . The title threw me off a bit on this one . Boredom overtook me , & I was pleasantly surprised . The moment you fired your spare engine up with the original carb & intake setup on it , I had to smile . That sounded very nice , & no problems . That , my friends , is what love , faith , & experience , can do for you ! "This is for you , Pete ! We love ya , buddy !" The look on his face was like , "No way" . The last thing he expected to see , especially on the road & running . Wow . a feel good story , but from all of the right places , & family involved . Great story , great history on the car , & an excellent ending for all involved . Kudos to Iron Trap Garage . That's what friends are for !

Your friend makes me think of my friend that I lost a few years ago his name was Bruce Elder and the way they stood and walked they could have been cousins anyway. Bruce was the kind of guy that made friends and kept them. He is one of the people that I still value as a good friend even though his time has passed. I used to work on a lot of the Antiques that he had at his shop he was a used car salesman on the dealership former dealership here in Staunton Virginia and I got to work on a lot of really cool stuff there. A very cool thing to do for Pete. I’ve talked with him a couple different times at Hershey and he is a treasure. He didn’t know me from Adam but would still talk to me like we were old friends. In addition to being a hot rodder Pete is one of those genuine people that you remember after you meet them. Good on ya for taking care of his car.
