What you call the “deep dish” are the 16 inch super Aeros (which as far as I am aware were never sold new on the 900, and were introduced on the 9000 aero in 1993). Those are the correct 15 inch Aeros for the 900. More appropriate for your car in my humble opinion! Love this series as an owner of two 900 turbos.

Btw...look up t5 conversion for Classic 900. Makes the engine run like it is a decade newer, and I believe THAT ecu can be flashed with a tune. If you opt to keep the older setup, check out Swedish Dynamics, a great place to hop up that 900 sensibly.

@@SaabAholicyep. My 89 left me grinning every time it tried to kill me, fighting ridiculous alternating torquesteer to keep it between the lines. I never drove a car that was as insane as my SPG, Viggen included(although I bet a stock diff on a st3 vig would be pretty similar. Mine has a quaiffe, and the rescue kit, so it is pretty manageable.) A tuned Classic is a very raw experience. lol.... Were you able to run the stock clutch? I noticed mine slipping and replaced it since it was so ridiculously easy to do, and then noticed even the new oem slipping a bit. Sold it before I could upgrade that bit.

Sometimes it baffles me how some cars end up in the junk yards... I was at my local yard last weekend and many cars in there were driven by high schoolers. There was a early 2000s toyota camry (I believe) obviously driven by an older person as there wasnt even 100K on the oil change sticker, Very clean interior not a stain anywhere. It did have a notice of abandonment, so most likely someone dumped it somewhere and left it. Almost makes you want to try to set something up with the yards to save them before they get the "junk title".....

You should definitely do a manual swap. I believe you can mod and install either a stage1 or 9-5 clutch? The manual can handle more power. Grab... -The APC module by the radiator. -The engine computer in the driver wheelwell. -THE TRANSMISSION, as good manual casings are getting rare. -All airflow items, very valuable. -Tail lights, if they are in good shape. -Ignition interlock console mechanism including switch, for when your reverse interlock is needed during the manual swap. -Rear decklid, since most are moldy and ruined by window leaks. -Headlights and foglamps. -Rims, very rare now. -ABS pump and sensors, only on 92-94, rare to find replacement parts. Too bad you can't just buy the whole thing and use it for parts and the manual conversion. Ultra rare bird and under 100k?? I am dying....

In my humble opinion you should buy the whole 900 salvage car as a donor. That body kit - the aero kit as it’s called over here Sweden is super cool. (The trim level of this was actually called the 900 aeroover here in Sweden). I had two different 900 turbos - one 1982 8 valve and later replaced by an 1986 turbo 16. None of them where the aero version witch I always regretted in those days. The aero versions also had the leather interior. I have no experience of the automatic gearbox but I do know from hard earned experience that the manual five speed was very “sensitive” - especially with the turbo 16 version.
