Long time SAAB fan. Gotta say you made me nauseous with all the back and forth on the camera. How about planning the shoot ahead and just parking the cars alongside so you can actually compare the doors, face lift, exhaust, and anything else. Just something to elevate your game a little. Thanks for the info.

Thanks for the suggestion. Being a one man operation, it’s just about impossible to move multiple cars to an “outside” location unfortunately, but I do see your point. Although, I will say I think my production quality has gotten a bit better over the years. This recent video, for example, was a bit more creative and I spent some more time “planning” the shots! Hopefully this one is a bit less nauseating: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eaKbZ62Chd2DaZosi=qMdRuaFB8ttRFCEp

Hi I also have a SAAB 93 Aero 2003 right hand drive but with a lot more miles on it than yours @300,000 miles not KM. The other day my power steering pipe ruptured the steel line behind the bumper. Not a big deal you would think until you try to find a new or second hand one, the power steering pipe for year 2003/2004 was a one off and cannot be found easily. I found one at speedparts Sweden I have ordered it and waiting for delivery at the mo, hopefully soon. The point is it would be worth checking yours and clean and paint before you get in to the same world of pain I am in. Good luck I always enjoy your videos

I used to live in Trollhättan, work at Saab and drive an old Saab. Emily GT looks nice and is likely a good concept. But it is way too late. The electric car marked is not what it used to be. Most of the producers are having financial issues now, so I don’t see who would invest in a disrupted project like the Emily GT.
@AutoAutopsy5 күн бұрын
well said! I agree - the EV market now seems to be "declining"
@waynerm0023 күн бұрын
@@AutoAutopsy The EV market isn’t declining as some in the press would have us believe. As a US expat living in Malaysia and traveling around Asia, the number of EVs here and coming is quite large, with China having the bulk of them. The delay for some is the time to convert to right hand drive and sell in South East Asia, BYD and others are building factories to produce vehicles for region. In Europe (some countries), Zeekr, XPeng NIO and others were set to deliver more but, tariffs have slowed that down however, they are looking at options to bring more over. The front of the Emily looks like a BYD product, it could fit into their lineup or have a separate brand (like Denza) started up (as SAAB, if they could get the name) to sell the cars. They could do like Polestar and Zeekr with door sill plates stating “Designed in Trollhattan” to remind folks even though they are built in China, it’s Swedish design.

Who owns the tooling for the Cadillac BLS Saab or GM i only bought my BLS to be different after 900s & 9-3 & really its more Saab than both convertibles ive owned as they are all Valmet builds. Has any Saab lovers imported the BLS yet or do American Saab lovers have to wait until they are 25 years old. Been a Saab 9-3 other than the front headlights rear lights & the analogue clock its identical to the facelift 9-3 & as its badged as a Cadillac can Americans get round the 25 years law. Glad we don't have it in Europe we can import cars from brand new upto any agem
@0692XA5 күн бұрын
I saw one old rich vet with a BLS in the states so someone must have gone though the process. The general rule is 25 years but there are a few ways to get rebadges and variants from other countries over the border, it's just expensive and takes a long time.
@AutoAutopsy5 күн бұрын
we would have to wait 25 years to legally import unfortunately :( I did see one for sale in Mexico though
@jeremywentworth18335 күн бұрын
@@AutoAutopsyThat was imported from somewhere in Europe as I don't suppose it was RHD if so it came from the UK. I bought 1 simply to be different. Interior no difference at all other than the clock & externally the lights. As there was only around 10000 made . Not sure about the rest of Europe but in the UK as it's rarer it's worth about £500 more than the equivalent year & mileage 2.0T 9-3.

My idle thoughts and somewhat fantasies I guess is that the Emily GT could have also been produced as a hybrid hatch back version that would be successful and impressive enough that Saab Aerospace would re-license the Saab name to Nevs and a version or at least off shoot of Saab would be resurrected.

After watching the top gear video about Emily I felt rather disappointed. The outside is kind of cool but the inside looks just like a Tesla model S. They could've designed an ergonomic interior with physical controls , I know it's not easy but maybe then they could actually offer something other manufacturers don't.

Swedes are great technicians but lousy businessesmen/women, especially those who worked at Saab. Look at all the totally useless concept cars from the Zero's, then the hair brained scheme of building ev 9-3 chassis and shipping them to China for final assembly, the whole ev 9-3 debacle that took ages and resulted in a car with sub par performance nobody was waiting for. And then the final nail of a beautiful looking Emily which would have been the natural successor to the 9-5NG if only they had used a proper engine, for my sake even a hybrid. Too much of a Messiah complex while nobody out in the great evil world is waiting for their gospel. This was my Saturday rant after several hours of shoveling snow, I feel very much relieved now 😄.
@0692XA5 күн бұрын
Saabs were everywhere in the 90s. I know quite a few people who said they love and miss their old 90s Saabs and wish they could have gotten a new one... having no idea the NG 9-3, much less the ng 9-5 ever existed. It looked so wildly different from past saabs and more like a Jetta or Accord while basically not having been advertised at all and despite how common they still are I never noticed them until I learned about them. "Move your mind" and some weird concept posters? What was that?
