Scott I'm am very glad to see that you and your family and Brandon made it thru ok with minimal damage to your property. I am sorry to see that your dad got hit pretty bad and has a lot of clean up but it is a testament to Rolands super great outlook on life that he was taking it like he was and is able to still laugh. That's why he has come so far and done so many things in his life and why so many people love him including me. Take care!

Thanks Scott for sharing a very stressful and dangerous time with your viewers. Last year my wife and I were blessed to spend 5 weeks in Florida. We traveled much of the state. We spent a day fishing with one of your guides. We enjoyed your state very much. We prayed that you would all be safe and God answered our prayers. Prayers will continue as you all rebuild. Stay strong!

Glad to see you guys & your entire family are ok. Sorry to see your Dad's place receive so much damage. Believe it or not, way up here in Melbourne Florida, we actually got slammed MUCH harder than most of us anticipated. The National Hurricane Center stated that the hurricane force winds would extend 50 miles from the center of the eye, and that Brevard county/Melbourne would only get tropical storm force winds of 74 mph or less. BULL CRAP!!! We stayed, and for 5.5 hours, ( 8pm to 1:30am ) we were getting repeated wind gusts of around 100 mph. The biggest outer band of the North-East quadrant of the storm had us in its cross-hairs. I've rode out many hurricanes here since 1969, and this was actually scarier than hurricane Francis & Jeanne!!! I truly thought our home was about to get ripped apart at any minute the whole time, and I don't scare easily. The whole house was shaking violently about every few minutes. My neighbor who evacuated only 3 doors down across the street in a mobile home was obliterated, and moderate to serious damage to homes all around us, BUT MY HOME WAS SPARED, THANK GOD. Lost a bunch of roof shingles. We lost all power at 8pm that night, and went 65 hours without power before it was restored. During a radio interview the next day, an off-duty meteorologist stated that Brevard county & Melbourne did indeed get hit particularly hard, to be so far away from the eye. And sure enough, he stated that large outer band of the North/East quadrant hit us head-on, and his dopplar radar was showing constant tornadic activity over Melbourne the whole time. Brother, I'm gettin' to old for this sh*t. We really under-estimated this one. This storm was just too big. But God answered our prayers & saved our place. Most of my neighbors weren't so fortunate.
