We take India's famous DOUBLE DECKER train to Delhi 🇮🇳

Me and ‪@betsythomps‬ take our first ever DOUBLE DECKER train in India! We take this beautiful Indian train from Jaipur to Delhi and it takes around 6 hours. We've never been on, or even seen a Double Decker train before so it was a new and fun way to travel to Delhi! It's not quite as good as the Vande Bharat Express train but we still had fun. Now it's time to explore Delhi, India :)

In Delhi make sure you do the following, 1. Khan Market and its Cafe Big Chill 2. Akshardham Temple (amazing architecture and design) 3. Qutub Minar (Tallest man made minaret in the world) 4. Humanyun's tomb 5. Lodhi Gardens 6. Hauze khas village (not really a village) 7. National Rail Museum 8. National Gallery of Modern Art 9. Jantar Mantar ( oldest astronomical observatories in the world, is a UNESCO heritage site, and hosts the largest sundial in the world) Delhi has the largest number of art galleries and Art Museums in India if you are into that. Finally use the Delhi Metro to move around, its FASTER, cheaper and More comfortable. Buy a Metro card, its worth it.

The "pollution" is not factory smoke or automobile smoke. It lasts only for a month because farmers are burning leftovers of the harvested crop in the fields

These double-deckers were probably introduced in the 1970s, and they must have maintained them. They are common on busy routes.

No AC Double Decker in India is more than 12 Years old. Non-AC was available on only couple of trains starting from 1979.

There are many places in Old Delhi where it is unsafe for foreigners. New Delhi is very nice though

All of Delhi is unsafe.. You can get robbed anytime, anywhere. Going out at night is not safe for women. In fact, the city witnessed a 40 percent spike in crime against women in 2020-2021. There are many slum clusters across the city like Prahladpur and Shadipur depot. Avoid them at all costs, although there is no reason for you to go there. Things are generally safer in New Delhi where there are many government buildings and posh areas like New Friends Colony - security is tighter.

Not really recommended to visit Delhi NCR in this season. November to jan is bad because of pollution.

Please please I beg you to not visit Old Delhi. For some reason every tourist wants to visit that shithole, while even delhi people don't want to go there because of all the chaos. Visit the monuments in south delhi and north delhi. Keep your journey limited to new delhi and it would be good. Buy a N99 mask to counter pollution. And use metros in afternoons only as it gets super crowded during office hours.
