I’m 74 years old and you have the right idea eating healthy wholesome foods . The 80-20 rules is real life. Love your video and I also watch your sisters. You have an awesome family.!

So I grew up in a hard home. And when grown had no clue how to be a mom or woman or wife lol…no examples. So when I got married and tried to make my own home I have had a lot of trouble figure out how with that background. All that to say…the basket in your bathroom I saw one similar in the thrift store and had NO CLUE what it was for?!! But I saw the way you set it up on your bathroom and I was like…”oh…ok. THAT is how that basket is supposed to be used.” lol…thanks for helping me learn how to be a good homemaker.

Amen, Mama, on the talk about food. I, too, feel overwhelmed sometimes trying to figure out what's best to feed our family. That's my thought's exactly lately... feed them whole foods and don't stress. You're doing a fantastic job... keep doing what you're doing!❤

I fully agree with you . 80/20 is super and its most healthy n o t to get stressed about your diet! We’ve turned vegetarian 1 1/2 years ago … but we’re in our 60s now and have decided that we’ve eaten enough meat in our lives. Since you’ve the best meat sources and a big family with growing kids I understand that you’re cooking with meat. I truly think you’re feeding your family well, just like your sister Lisa🙏🏼❣️

The message in this video is so timely for me. I consume a lot of this information e.g. vegan is best, low carb is best, fat will kill you etc and it is so stressful! Especially when you have kids and want to do right by them. Focusing on whole foods and ignoring the other labels, the 80/20 rule like you said is so much healthier. Thankyou for this discussion, much more comforting to us mums out there than you know!

It is so true! We are bombarded with information from everywhere and it is a lot. Anything we want to know is at the click of a button. Going through logic and fallacies has helped me weed quite a bit out but it is still pretty easy to get overwhelmed. Thanks for sharing! Baby is so cute!☺️ ❤

Yes, I think the stress from obsessing over food is worse than just eating. We eat whole and I make 90 percent from scratch so I don't sweat it when we're out or at someone's house if we're eating something I normally wouldn't have in my home.

I wish I had been more like you in my younger “mom” days. ❤. Cooking healthy creating healthy meals and enjoying your little people (that part I did 😊❤). I love how you keep your baby close. That would have been a game changer for me! Your baby hears your heart beat all the time. And keeps close to you. I love that. Oh, I love your kitchen! So pretty 😍. And I want to try that anti aging serum. It will have a lot of catching up to do! 😊

I am 74 years old too; so my kids are adults; but I went thru some phases with diets when they were little; but settled on the same reasonable and sustainable approach to feeding my family that you are doing. Sill follow much the same. its too stressful to worry so much; and some people are so caught up in sticking to a certain way of eating that they take their own food to someone elses home; and I am not talking about allergies or diabetes or other health issues. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I can’t wait until we have our green house finished so we can grow our own vegis. I’m watching from Australia. My husband and I share all the cooking. ( kids have grown up, so just us two). Love the taste of homegrown vegis. Both my husband and I both enjoy healthy food. But sometimes we need something quick. So might not always be as healthy. Definitely good that we live out of town so not tempted to buy take away

I rarely comment but this message touched my soul. 😊

Hi Laura, I totally agree with your thoughts on food. If you don't let kids experiment with different I think it makes them want what we call not healthy stuff all the more. They learn what truly taste the best. We must monitor and control. You do an amazing job at it.

@aloras4053 ай бұрын
The only thing I would NOT use the laundry soap on is cloth diapers. Cloth diapers require the enzymes in detergent to break down the human waste. Home made laundry soap will also build up and affect your absorbency of the diapers. If you’re looking for a detergent that is good, the Azure Standard detergent is strong enough and won’t cause buildup.

I need to purchase some wooden boards, and I want to know that they are safe to use and do not have strange chemicals in the wood. Do you have any suggestions on where I can purchase wooden cutting boards that are made to use with food?

I know you have done gaps for your family in the past. What’s your take on it today? Would you do it again? We did it for 5 months this year, mainly because of my sons eczema on his face. It helped a lot, but also stressed me very much!! Now I am scared it comes back if I go back to „normal“ Whole Foods (that of course I cook myself from scratch). Even if now I make my own kefir, yogurt, sour cream etc. plus using essential oils and everything non toxic, non scented, etc. I also know I have to slow down and be more relaxed specially because we’ll have our fourth in November. Would love to know your opinion.

I think GAPS is great for healing. My son needed it for 2 years and then was able to go back to our normal diet. I believe GAPS should be used in a season of life to heal, but not a forever diet.

In my humble opinion at my 65 soon to be 66 yo age 😬😵💫 I personally think that doctors put wayyyyyyy tooooooo much stress on pregnant mamas 😤😵 This really bothers me 😓 I also feel we need to find balance on food/nutrition. What works for your body and your families body’s is the most important. As we age and our blood work changes… Just change and adapt… Move forward. Just my take on it ❤❤
