I remember a teacher saying to me “ she’s not going to be 6 forever “. Eight years later, I still use that phrase. I was stressed when my daughters first grade teacher said “ she think she has a learning disability “. I was in tears. We had her tested and she tested above average for her age, she was the youngest in her class. Her 2nd grade teacher explained that some kids can be told and some need to be shown. When you’re shown, you remember 90%. This is how my daughter is. A side note, her 1st grade teacher wasn’t happy that she was wrong.

I can relate. Many years ago, I was told that my son was "different" ... I remember I thought I was going to die- his father and I felt like failures. How could I have missed the "obvious" signs? Fast forward, he tested advance for his age [5]. That teacher was bitter for being proved wrong, and in 2 weeks, he'll be moving into university ... healthy and thriving 🙏🏼🤍

Not finished watching yet but wanted to encourage you. You are so right, sister. Mind set ( finding joy) and being present and grateful for the little moments like cutting and arranging flowers are so important and really shape the perspective of your whole day. Young children underfoot is such a short chapter. Im a mom to 7 and it feels like just yesterday I was wearing my babies and balancing diapers and chores and now my kids are 18, 17, 16, 13, 12, 11, 8. Enjoy every moment and find joy in every day! ❤

I really liked your wisdom shared in this video. Even though I am 76, I still get overwhelmed with my life events. I liked your reminders on what to do and what not to do when I am stressed. It’s my mindset that sets the tone in me and my home. Just focusing on one thing at a time and not thinking about All the things that need to be done. Also, telling myself if it doesn’t get done, it’s okay. Thank you. ❤

So cute to see your toddler smiling at you in the laundry room! I miss having little kids around! Waiting on great grandkids now! Thanks Laura for sharing your life!😊 You are so funny, I had to chuckle with you when you confessed that it may be you instead of toddlers who are to blame for not so perfect garden!!! 😂

I enjoyed this video very much. Your kind words to "yourself" were excellent! I have gotten overwhelmed as a caretaker many times and always go back to one day at a time. Perfection is a motivation killer. The Amish actually put mistakes in their quilts on purpose, because only God is perfect. I remind myself of this often. Enjoy your weekend. Looking forward to seeing some Fair videos. Hope it was fun!

Stress is an everyday part of life, it’s been a bad year for my family this year with my mother in law passing away 3 weeks ago, another family member recently passed also, and other things as well. Family life never stops though, I think you’re a great mother and wife. Having a newborn makes it harder but you manage 😊 I love your flower arrangements they’re gorgeous.

I'm in my 70's now. Watching your videos takes me back to when my kids were little. As young Mom's we put so much pressure on ourselves to be perfect & fit everyday life in to a perfect nice neat box with no flaws. I have to ask myself, why? I feel its because we had visions of others who made life look simple & they seemed to get it all done so we tend to feel less efficient at mom life & happy home life. And sure, we can fit it all in to that perfect life but then, we forget to ENJOY the simple little joys happening around us. I can say this because I did get it all done in that tight little neat box & yet, I feel I missed out on so many precious moments. We need to give ourselves permission to let some things go on occasion. Trust me, it worth it & it all seems to fall into place as it should. God's garden does not have to look perfect. It's beautiful even with weeds.

I wish I realized the mind set theory when my first three were young. I was a young mother and had three before I was 22. I was stressed all the time. We didn’t wear babies so we were always having to stop whatever to tend to them. We didn’t have disposable diapers etc. I confess I hated being a stay at home mom. I went from being a social butterfly to being a stressed out mother of three. I had next to know adult conversation for the most of the day. Plus my husband worked two jobs so there were days that I never had any help. Your attitude about what gets done is enough works only if your spouse is on the same page. Needless to say our divorce was final just days before our ten year anniversary. It was ok with him that I got a job then! Anyway, I wish I knew more about just having the right mind set and that taking care of your home wasn’t a menial, thankless job!

I know you live by the rule everything as a place and you always return them. I agree, I say to myself, "One touch", use it and return it. If you just put things away as you use them your house will stay in order. It then just takes a wipe down and sweep and vacuum to look nice. Weekly chores for the deeper cleaning. If you have a system like you have you will not feel so overwhelmed .

My three kids are grown and gone, but they all three had 4-H hogs. They were in a big livestock club, so there were different leaders for hogs, beef, and sheep. Guess who the hog leader was? lol!! It was a long week, and the middle school years were trying, but we did it!!

When my son was 9 -10, he & his dad built 9 chicken coops. He saved his money & bought an incubator & a large bitty box. He started raising different breeds of chickens & would take them to our local livestock auction to be auctioned off. He also had people come buy them, sometimes buy the baby chicks & the eggs. He did that for several Yrs. I totally enjoyed it myself, i even had a couple roosters & 6 chickens that were pets & just ran the yard😊 Baby boy is precious!💙 Oh you are sooo right.. Overthinking will definitely stress you out, I'm the worlds worst Overthinker😑 When I was younger, even up thru my 40's, i didn't tend to be that way. I could just go with the flow. But the older I get the worse i get, so it seems🤦‍♀️I've always be one to worry ahead about things, but not dwell on them so much. I feel like now i just worry all the time, my mind never rest! And I don't know how to turn it off🥴 Watching my Utube channels help tho, i focus on The videos & what's going on. Your flowers are so pretty! You are also exactly right about the fresh homegrown veggies.. so much better than store bought! When we lived in TN the was an Amish market just a mile from our home, everything was grown right there in their gardens. They also had lots of jellies, jams & perserves & honey.. so many good things! We've found a nice fruit & veggie stand here in FL, we've bought some fruits that were really good & I'm sure we'll be buying veggies too! The fish dad sandwiches looked so yummy😋 I enjoyed the video & TFS!
