Great video, there is something wholesome about listening to Toms voice after many years 😂 But yeah Mega CD remember all the hype in Sonic the Comic, and that Mega Machines (I think) VHS, cyber razor cut anyone? 👌👌

Utterly love the MegaCD. Fantastic little add-on. Loads of non-FMV games to get your appetite. Strangely I've not played Wonderdog yet! Can definitely understand quoting soundbytes in real life. Sega Bass Fishing was the worst for that "oh, it's average size" "woooahhh it's a BIG one" 😂 I'm with Tom though - the MegaCD Thunderhawk is what I first played in the series, fantastic game and the first level music just lived in my head as a kid. Some great choices for faves. Soulstar I've tried to pickup but it's always 40-50 quid or more! It looks outstanding but not one I've played. Shining Force CD is my main other pick that hasn't been mentioned. Don't think we got ANY lunar games in PAL unfortunately. We got proper done in there. The MegaCD definitely needed to lean more into the normal sprite games that used FMVs in interesting ways Ur sprite scaling or CD soundtracks as all of those games (well nearly all) were fantastic! Totally stealing Megadrive snobs as well 😂 Always a pleasure to watch you guys with Tom. It's like having a trio of tangent-laden banter the whole pod!

Big Mega CD fan but was a real shame that the hardware sprite scaling was hardly ever utilised. I remember being blown away by Cobra Command and the red book CD soundtrack on Sol-Feace. Also impressed that they crammed five Sega Classics on the Arcade Collection but unfortunately only had an enhanced soundtrack on Golden Axe. Still my favourite console add-on of all time. Keep up the awesome work guys!

The way things played out they should have dropped the scaler and dropped in a chip for higher on screen colour but no one knew the crappy FMV games would make up a big part of its library.

The criminally underused Sega CD that could have played more than half the games that we saw on PlayStation 1 and Saturn. No, SEGA had to ditch this $300 addon for a $160 32x, then both of them for a $400 arcade behemoth that had few games at launch and would perpetually have 1/10th the games as the Genesis and Sega CD!

I love the Mega cd. I have a model 1 & 2 and a US import CDX. Sadly I didn't have it when it was current, it was too expensive for me. Bought the model 2 in the Dreamcast days.

I can confirm the rivals school story...70 quid i got...badly needed at the time...still a massive profit since it cost me a 5 new in electronics boutique when they liquidated DC stock

I wish sega released cut down portable music player cdx so more people can buy the duo console. Also, sega should've cutdown the add-on hardware to cut cost (without the scaler chip and m68k cpu with 32x vdp for color expansion or a pce super cd set up. With enhancement chips later on) or released it later with the 32x vdp (with the scaler chip), ram, dma sound chip and 32-bit cpu. In place of the extra 68k.

I'm a mega CD Sega CD super fan I own 5x Japanese model 1 2x UK model 1 and 2x Sega CD model 1 and Asia model 1 and CDx and multi mega and boxed Japanese super 32x mega 32x Genesis 32x and all region mega drive s and Genesis model 1 and one fully boxed Japanese mega CD model 1 perfect condition all have been recapped 😊
