To be fair, while I had the same feeling initially, her overall feeling towards them during the summary at the end of the week seemed very neutral. If you watch just her recap, she says that really the only thing she didn't like were the smells, and I would just discount/ignore the curling iron given the issue there.

I think the cheap stuff did just as good as the expensive. When it comes to cheap irons you have to practice more to get the same curl/straight look as the expensive one. As far as the dryers the curly hair girl always looked the same to me, her hair honestly just needs to air or towel dry and use a brush to define her pretty curls to me. The other products used I couldn't tell a difference I guess the fragrance is what makes them expensive...
@lizp.9232
@lizp.9232 3 жыл бұрын
What makes hair care expensive is the quality of the ingredients that go into them. I have curly hair and honestly I use expensive hair care from a salon because my hair stays cleaner longer as well as it helps to define my curls. The smells is just a plus. Also with irons and such you get what you pay for. A more expensive iron will have more time and resources go into developing it while cheap will not. Not saying that one iron is better than the other it really all depends on how well the persons hair takes to styling it. But the dyson tools are really amazing in general. They are that price for a reason.

I have thin, straight hair that is very long, and I wash my hair every 1-2 *weeks* even though I had to wash it every day in the past. It doesn't get greasy except for the last few days now. It took the right products AND a lot of time to get my hair into a good oil producing cycle, so it IS possible for most people. Though not everyone has the time, money, and patience to get there, and everyone's hair and lifestyle is different, so that has an effect on your oil production too.

i’ve tried and tried and tried to get my hair used to being washed less but it absolutely needs to be washed every day and even that’s not enough to keep the grease at bay... also if i go more than one day it gets unbearably itchy and flaky, but it’s fine for a good 18 hours after being washed. i don’t use shampoo more than twice a week though i use conditioner as shampoo to not dry out my hair

I like the motto of not spending $$$ on products you wash down the drain. I love the L’Oréal Ever Pure line, Not Your Mother’s, Hempz, Giovanni...thankfully, my hair is pretty hassle-free. Speaking as an older woman, the bigger concern is wondering how much my hair will thin, which is more genetic than a product can help.

A diffuser is just used to make the airflow less harsh. Anyone can use it. Curly hair is recommended to use a diffuser so it doesn’t break up the curl pattern.

My favorite "cheap" shampoo/conditioner is coconut oil Maui moisture. I have pretty tight curls. Then I use Garnier Fructis curl treat styling products (I mix all three - the smoothie, butter, and gel together). I use pravana purple shampoo. I try to use only silicone, paraben, and sulfate free hair products.. Which has definitely transformed my curls for the better.

Advice to Carolina or anyone with curly hair: As a curly (3A), short hair, you should seriously try “Marc Anthony Hair Care Strictly Curl”. It doesn’t matter what type of curl you have, this brand/line is AMAZING. No parabens, Sulfates, SLS, Phthalates. They have a full line (Shampoo/Conditioner/Deep Conditioner/Styling) for us curlies 😁. Best part, high quality at an extremely affordable price. (Target/Walmart/Amazon). Marc Anthony Hair Care is made in Canada. (FYI: It was created by a salon owner and NOT the singer).

I literally use that Garnier sleek and shine all the time when I straighten my hair. I'm pretty sure you're supposed to use it on dry hair (which is what I do), then immediately style... usually it stays up to three days perfectly pin-straight, even in-and-out of ponytails/buns. I have thick-ish, naturally wavy hair when air-dried btw. edit: this video was definitely sponsored by Dyson, or they just REALLY WANTED us to know how the products worked so they could justify recommending them >.>

Christina, I was also told that guys don't like girls with curly hair, so I've been straightening my hair for the last 10 years... But since quarantine I've rediscovered my curls, and I swear I get more attention from guys with my curls and then I do with my straight hair. 👍🏽

I have thick hair (2b) and use whatever shampoo and conditioner is cheapest, nothing else. Sometimes I find them on the Dollar Tree clearance aisle, sometimes at the thrift shop. My hair is ridiculously healthy and I have people ask what I'm doing on a weekly basis. Nothing is the answer. Also, I've tried the Dyso Airwrap and hated it. I resold it and made money. It took forever to get a slight curl that dropped out within an hour, made my roots frizzy and I wouldn't have kept using it if you paid me.

I bought the Dyson hair wrap. Definitely gave me the blowout volume you get from the salon. However it kept turning off and required dust cleaning. I ended up returning it. The barrels/brush heads somewhat felt cheap but didn't think it should be worth $500-600 at that time. Now my hair is whatevers now lol 🙄

Carolina you’re not supposed to turn on the blow dryer until the diffuser is touching your head then you turn it off before taking it away from your head. That’s why you’re getting so much frizz LOL.

I do not recommend the line for finer/thinner hair, IMO. I have medium coarse, thick hair and find the products a little heavy. They’re great for conditioning, as they’re rich in oils, but they weigh my hair down. So, I use the deep conditioner as a treatment once a week.
