Hey twins I have a terrific suggestion for you!! When it comes to making spaghetti squash what we do instead of slicing the squash down the side lengthwise cut it across widthwise so when it’s standing up on one end slice it horizontally about halfway down to try to divide both halves equally and then what we do is scrap out the seeds(don’t throw them out I’ve got a separate treat u can make with them!!!) After scraping out the seeds brush all the exposed flesh with avocado oil and then place in your airfryer at 350F for 30mins if you don't have the dual ninja you will have to cook each side separately or bake in oven. I like the airfryer because I put it on the roast feature and the top edges turn a little chard which just makes them more delicious. Once cooked u should be able to easily pierce the outer skin easily if not give it another 15mins which will ensure the squash is fully cooked then with a fork you should be able to slides fork tong into the edge between the skin and flesh and easily begin to pull the squash out. Dont repeatedly put your fork in and pull or you will end up with short strands the purpose for cooking it this way is so when you pull the squash out it will unwind into very long strands because that's how the squash grows on the inside so by cutting it widthwise you are severing all the strands twice like you are when you cut it length wise. Make sense? Also when you do it like this it turns into the perfect serving bowl we will pull a lot of the spaghetti separating it from the flesh and just making a pile in the center of the squash and then we top with spaghetti sauce and ground beef that we've cooked up previously(it’s actually one of the things I do on the weekend to prep for quick meals through the week! I’ll cook up a massive amount of ground beef and some I’ll mix with spaghetti sauce and put aside and some I’ll mix taco seasoning in and some I’ll turn into sloppy joes and some I’ll mix with chili powder for a beanless chili. I put those portions in ziploc bags and label and date them some I put in the freezer for a quick unexpected meal sometime and the rest if I plant to use through the week I’ll just keep in the fridge and then that way if something comes up and I don’t make it because I forgot I was going out one of those nights with friends I can just pop it in the freezer. Anyway back to the squash I put the spaghetti sauce and ground beef if you want to go lower carb you can just add two tablespoons of tomato paste(or sugar free ketchup) and some water to the ground beef and it creates a sort of faux sauce and put half in the one half of spaghetti squash leaving the other amount for the other half. Then I pop back in for a few minutes just long enough that the ground beef gets hot and then I sprinkle some mozzarella cheese and some Parmesan cheese on top and put it back in for a few minutes until it’s just starting to brown on top usually 3mins in the air fryer but it depends on how much cheese you use…then you have a fully cooked meal and you can cover with foil while you wait for the second one to be cooked and you can also preheat you beef mixture in the microwave before to save on some cooking time. Just some ideas that I’m sure you will love and checkout how much longer your strands of spaghetti squash are and also how much more of the spaghetti squash that you actually eat because you can easily eat it right down to the skin there is no spaghetti squash left on the inside. Pretty neat eh?!

@@leannekenyoung ✨ Such a great tip for cutting the squash Leanne~ Thank you!
@leannekenyoung
@leannekenyoung 2 жыл бұрын
@@RV-there-Yet your welcome! I forget how I first heard about it but it sure works well especially in our dual air fryer and just rubbing avocado oil all over the inside and over the cut part helps to seal the moisture in as it cooks and then once you pull it off the sides with a fork and fluff it and add sauce to the center and then add mozzarella on top it’s soooo good! But the really amazing part it’s so easy to remove every single layer of squash from the outer skin. I had no clue you could actually get it to release all of the squash from the skin like that. I think it may be the way the oil seals the moisture inside so it pushes the steam between the fibers and the skin. That’s my thought anyway. Glad you like the tip, happy to share!🥰🙏🏻🇨🇦

I like to serve spaghetti squash in the actual squash skin rather than scooping it out onto a plate. Just pour the sauce over it and use the skins/shell as the plate. It looks quite stylish to serve it like that.

Boursin is pretty much cream cheese whipped with heavy cream, parsley, garlic and herbs. I have a recipe to make it homemade:- 8 oz cream cheese 2 cloves garlic, minced 1/4 c mayonnaise 2T cream 2T chopped chives 1/2 tsp lemon juice 1T chopped parsley Pinch of ground thyme Whip it all together with a hand mixer until fluffy. Boursin comes in 5 oz package. This would make close to two packages. The whole recipe has 15 G protein, 133 g fat and 14 g net carbs. It would be just over a cup, so less than 1g protein, about 8 1/2 g fat and under .9 of a g of net carbs per tablespoon. I used carb manager.

Suppose you blanch the fresh green beans so they have a head start on cooking and turn nice deep green. Then dry them off, spray with olive oil then roll in almond flour mixed with ground parmesan cheese? Maybe that would give you a fully cooked bean and some of the crunch you want. I have done that to onion rings before., not the blanching, but the rest.

Fail proof way to cook spag squash: wash, pierce with fork all around, microwave on high for 8 mins. When done let cool a bit, cut off the top & bottom of squash and cut in half, scoop out fibers and seeds. Spray olive oil on inside and sprinkle on salt & pepper. Cook cut side down (this adds flavor because of caramelization that happens while cooking at high temp) on foil lined baking pan/sheet. Cook in pre-heated oven at 400 degrees for 40-45 mins. Let cool then shred out the flesh of the squash. It will literally only leave the shell (that’s how you know it is done because the squash releases). Mix all around on the foil to get the flavor all throughout the dish. YUMMY 😋

Just a tip, cut the spaghetti squash into rings rather than down the length. When you pull them out with your fork, you get LONG lovely strands of goodness. I found out that the flesh grows in a spiral and when you cut it length wise, you are cutting the strands in half. 😃

Love your slightly goofy interplay, girls! And your lighthearted testing experiments! Plus, the recipes taste great! How I do Spaghetti Squash? I cut the spaghetti squash around the “belt”, and flatten the ends, remove seeds, place each piece in a small bowl, adding a tablespoon of water in the crater, cover with cling wrap, poke a couple of vents, and microwave the two for a couple 6 minute cycles, til tender. Somehow it never occurred to me to run my full size oven for those two squash halves! I suppose if I were cooking three of them, running the oven would make sense. I don't think I have ever tried any of those cheeses to be honest. I haven't had spaghetti squash in a while so that may be a good hack for me to try if I can find that style of cheese. Of course you had to make the chaffle thinner and crispier. It's the Keto Twins way. 😂🤣 Green beans are my favorite vegetable. I cook them in the air fryer all the time, but I've only ever added basic seasonings like garlic, onion, and sometimes nutritional yeast. I don't know if I could personally survive without my air fryer. Glad you got to use it again. Hope y'all are having an awesome week and as always thanks for testing it for us first.

Hello ladies just started following you....love your videos. The Boursin cheese is also an alternative to use when making that viral Cherry tomato feta recipe. Love the spaghetti squash hack...will do that for sure. Could that one ingredient Chaffee, shredded be good to use as a side with a salad or a cracker, yes.

Hi Bernie! Thanks for watching! I think this would taste great instead of feta in the viral tomato feta hack! ! Yum! -Em

The Boursin is tasty ($)..... however, I would just use *bacon bits* , garlic, chives and onion with regular cream cheese. After all that is what Boursin is ...flavored cream cheese.... just a grown up version of cream cheese dip/spreads.

Do try the green beans with fresh beans. They do get crispy and taste almost like french fries. They are one of my favorite side dishes. I'm on my way to the store to get the Boursin cheese. You ladies made that dish look delicious!
