@@Broba_Fett Yeah, the Playdate should be S-tier. Hearing them complain about the screen is ridiculous, that Sharp Memory LCD screen has insanely high contrast, especially under daylight conditions, and it's the whole reason the device exists. It's a retroreflective screen, so obviously it doesn't work well if all the lights are in front of you (studio) and not behind or above you (living room, the sun). The trackpads on the steamdeck are incredible! You can configure them to be weapon wheels or custom menus for games, it makes playing PC games with complex controls actually possible portably.
@bosstowndynamics54888 ай бұрын
The issue here is that you need to do all of that configuration for each game (or even if there's a community config you need to learn it with all of the random idiosyncracies that come with some random person's idea of a good custom control scheme) and it still leaves you with small touchpads instead of a mouse. I'm sure it's useful but it's definitely not fit everyone

Yeah, the track pads are what pushed the SD ahead of the ROG Ally for me. Even if I do have to dual boot it to play windows games, or go through multiple hoops of trickery to get non-steam games to play on the Steam OS side. Then again, I love that kind of thing, too, so win-win tbh

When you mod a Vita (takes about five minutes, one-time process), I'd say it instantly becomes an S-Tier console. Emulates basically everything until the PSP. @@chrys9256It’s a reflective screen so I assume their studio lights were behind the screen with no lights behind them and a lot of light in front. A backlight could be cool but the screen is really nice in practically any daylight lighting condition and is pretty much the best screen under sunlight, so this is kinda just user error imo. Also massively undersold the entire concept of the console (a community supported ecosystem with every console being a devkit to make games on for others) and the huge indie community it has, which I assume was down to them not being told about any of the device beyond a one line summary.

An FPGA based device like the analogue pocket does things different as compared to a Steam deck . Steam deck plays AAA well. Analogue pocket don’t but it does hardware emulation better than steam deck’s software based emulation due to the fact that the pocket is a FPGA based device . An lastly , I do have an oled steam deck . It’s fantastic but based on my experience, loading games takes long at times or the deck freezes when I load a game . For pocket, I don’t have any issues so far . So user experience matters as well. Seems like the pocket is well built too. But that’s subjective . Great video either ways.
