Everyone has their interpretation of this song, but it does also make me cry because it reminds me of my husband who passed away 3 weeks ago. He suffered very much, especially toward the last months of his life and when he left us early that Monday morning, I imagine him running toward Jesus and dancing on the waves with Him. He loved His Lord and I know he is with Him. This is such a beautiful song and I tear up every time I hear it. Thanks for writing it! xo

What a cool story. God is so...cool. Out of your struggles He brought this beautiful song that was actually the first song I found of you guys and I remember hearing it for the first time and I just weeped. My wife and I have been going through a painful process with my son who’s sick and for the longest time I was desperately seeking and begging God. I think in all that, I was muffling the sound of God trying to bring comfort to us. If I forgot to pray, I’d beat myself up because I really wanted God but felt like I wasn’t putting in the work to pursue Him. When I heard the words “I’m reaching out, I’ll chase you down”, I was reminded that it’s the opposite: God is pursuing me. When that truth hit me, I was wrecked and I listen to it with my boy all the time now.

I hear from God and one day as I listened to this God told me to tell his children this song was to them from him. The Lord just said to tell you when you wrote this, you wrote down the very heart of God. It was appointed for such a time when darkness has filled the atmosphere. Many of his children are weary in the fight. Many are listening to the lies of Satan. You have a strong anointing honey. The peace and love of God are flowing from your lips says God. It is bringing comfort to the masses. God bless you and your family. And don’t give up.

One day I had a vision, as in I was not asleep I was awake during my morning quite time with the Lord, and the spirit of the Lord picked me up and sat me down on top of the water and it was pretty calm, I was dancing on the water and the sky was half sunrise or sunset/ half a beautiful starry night and the water reflected the sky perfectly, I just danced for joy to be in his presence, to be in the presence of my Heavenly Father and to be with him one on one, then he whisked me away again and set me down on the top of a mountain and again I just danced and rejoiced, totally at peace, almost at play... there was no other focus, just spending time with the Lord and dancing gracefully for him. About a week or two later I heard this song for the first time on the radio and just burst into tears because, it was literally the lyrics to the experience I had just had privately! Like if I could imagine what song was playing this would be it! Now every time I hear it, it is so personal to me. ❤️

I've been a bit frustrated with some of the flavors of evangelism as they try to turn Jesus into a sappy lovesick puppy dog that comes across as so needy of our attention. I have gotten to know Jesus more through His Word and not just through the emotional stances some may try to woo others into His kingdom with.... When I picture Jesus chasing me...it is not because He is a fanboy of me or my passions...and just SO wants to hang out with me...but more like someone trying to get me to realize that I need to recognize Him for Who He is and what He has done....and knowing the Gospel is the power unto salvation...and not just our "wise words" or "good works". I get that so often (ALL the time) we men will fail compared to JESUS as He IS WAS AND WILL BE perfect....but at the same time folks will try to romanticize the King of ALL kings. Please know that I am not venting so much as pleeding for those that truly wanna know the Gospel and not just share in spreading gossip...(the whispering about what Jesus allegedly did for so and so and this and that becoming busybodies) We are closer to the end than we were at the beginning AND although we will have trouble in this world... JESUS has overcome it! I pray we all know Him for Who He is and know Him as Savior and LORD and not just basing our allegiance on how we feel. Love your music guys! 😇😎

I really like this comment because we have to be careful of what we are actually singing to, God wants us to worship in spirit and in truth! that is why I was here in the first place checking the meaning of the song because its a catchy song but I just read the lyrics and it made me feel bad because He sounds needy just like you say and He is not. Our hearts are often deceived and SOMETIMES the "old man" (old nature) wants the control that they had prior (or even presently) and the heart seems to want what IT wants (flipping the roles of Creator and worshipper) As we are created for worship...and God should be the center of our worship... Yet with ALL the options and questions that cloud the judgement and vision of the human that still sees through a fuzzy lens... Discernment is key. May THE Holy Spirit guide you in His Ways. As Jesus is THE Head of the Kingdom Body. THAT is why I keep reading my Bible. There is ONLY One Jesus who is that narrow path to Salvation where the wide path leads to destruction. 😇🔥😎😀

This comment stuck out to me, I've been convicted lately of the type of worship music I listen to and as I was reading the lyrics of this song I just thought this is such a "me me" centered song and that didn't sit well with me although the song sounds good
