Every baby is special but the plantif went over board she is living vicariously through her son.she wanted to plan a wedding. Sometimes people need to seriously talk and include the parents. Usually friends give showers. This baby shower was extreme and this case became ridiculous almost snappy from the plantif. Family has a lot of talk no money. The defendant's daughter is going to have problems with her baby's father's family they are going to be in all her business trying to raise that baby. What a family!! Too many opinions no money!! LORD THE BABY ISNT EVEN BORN.😢

Judge Lake was wrong on this one. Once a non paying relative would’ve threatened me…. I’d be out of it too! That lady didn’t know if her cousin would have acted on that threat. $2300 for a baby shower that the plaintiff clearly said “they weren’t ready for”, is wild

How do people spend this sort of money on a baby shower, goodness me, what the money spent on, we don’t do many baby showers in the UK, what’s that money spent on. I went to one, we had crisp and snacks, and took a small gift, like vests, or nappies small gifts for the baby sounds as if yours have gone just crazy, £1000 each from 2 people.

For this shower it was explained on the invoice, there was a DJ who provided free service, the Plaintiff hired an event planner, venue, tables, chairs, catered food, decorations, etc.....I think it's too much, the Plaintiff went overboard because she was expecting half from the defendant, glad she didn't get the full amount. I felt bad for the defendant, but she could have said No, and contribute what she could afford.

This is why I don't get too close & comfortable with ppl when it comes to money. I would have just written a check for the amount that I was comfortable with, went to the shower & then go about my business. When you give ppl an inch, they'll gladly take a mile.

The baby shower was for Ms. West, her non paying family/friends who have a lot to say, but not one penny contributed towards the baby shower. She hoped they’d get married first which means she’s already thinking about the wedding planning and baby’s 1st birthday. Hope she acknowledges the fact that her son has a woman with another child/not to be ignored. If you have struggling kids, then obviously that money could’ve been better spent elsewhere. So, Ms. Castell agreed to $500 which aligns with the mentioned $1k total. So if Ms. West decided to overspend, that’s on her. Only 3 fully loaded margaritas?! She could remember half, but not $500. Ms. West knew exactly what she was doing which is why she mentioned “half” again, knowing Ms. Castell agreed to $500. If she didn’t know what her overboard was, then Ms. West should’ve asked. I wouldn’t have stayed in a group chat with hoodlums. It was not an important event for her grandchild because the kid isn’t here already. Ms. Castell will have plenty of memories once the baby is born. If their kids are struggling now, what’s going to happen when the baby comes? If I’m struggling financially, I’d rather use that money towards bills, pampers, groceries, etc. That baby shower is for one day. How is this helping struggling kids with a growing family? If she’s accountable for $750, I’m sorry she didn’t get to enjoy.

Whatever happened to a backyard bbq/potluck/cake/drinks/balloons/games? Those days, everybody wants to hire planners and strut around like they’re celebrities when they cannot afford it. It was very selfish on her part to agree to splitting the bill without communicating her budget knowing damn well her intention wasn't to contribute. 😂 She kept giving excuses im glad she paid up her part of the bargain

Im not vague anout money. Id have said EXACTLY what im anle to do in writing and stuck to it. A threat would be taken seriously. My child wouldnt think its cool. I do hope the defendant can forgive for the sake of her daughter and grandchild but too many children suffer because of issues with the adults. My grandchildren stories are not happy. But we had to get over a lot of mess. Families don't always treat everyone fairly or equally. I paid for many family events but my children and grandchildren got nothing. Lots of chapters in that novel Oh they did get my grandson a used car seat or stroller but my daughter never got it.
