This story really shows the better side of human nature, from the gentleman who called in the rescue, to Lawrie and Simon for the rescue, to Sally and Alana for the hours put in to the foxes recovery and no doubt the countless people behind the scenes at WAF who have changed bandages, helped with physio, fed him, cleaned out the pen and more. One foxes life is owed to the dedication and kindness of so many… but the reward for that hard work… seeing him run free. What better reward is there than that?

My late father rehabbed deer for the DNR in the US. It all began when found a wounded buck, stuck in barbed wire. It had been bitten by dogs and had shotgun sell lodged in its shoulder. He got it out of the barbed wire and brought it home. We always had animals growing up. He would bring home orphans and return them to wild. When someone asked me about my Dad I always he was a combination of Grizzly Adams and Bob Vila.
