Talking about moisture... all crops have moisture, some from rain, some from groundwater, reservoirs, lakes and rivers. We are selling our water as well as the crop, so when it is used in other places, we contribute it to that new location.

Ron. Have a question about Harvestore grain bins. When I was younger they were the bins to have on your farm. Some had the American flag on them and some did not. My grandpa told us the story that the ones with the flag were paid off. Is that true?

As you have said Ron, farming is all about risk. How did you bean field do?

Like the others said, idle is low. Got to love Iowa weather.
@r.scotthill30829 ай бұрын
You see side draw bins everywhere. Some of them on huge bins. People are always talking about pulling out of them until they stop flowing. I have never heard anybody talking about the bins sucking in til now. Is that because Harvestores aren't braced as well?

I'd say it lopes if you have a clogged injector, bad or dirty MAF sensor, or even a vacuum leak. Low idle by itself may not be the culprit.

We had a diesel tractor on the farm do that. Not sure if the same as a truck but it was govener or the spring if i remember right.

I have a gussiting system that I've made to repair that dent. I've installed it on 2 grain stores this year. They are 1/2 aluminum plate. Seriously would have no problem give you all a set. Mechanical engineer to another

Farm Chem has the base for a cone bottom tank. Floyd Iowa.
@timsziminski24613 жыл бұрын
Looking at that tank visually doesn't look bad just reinforce it with some larger metal throw some welds on it and paint it up. Just a thought 👊
@brianshell41113 жыл бұрын
I'll take care of u on the cone or base for that tank. Please have someone from the farm reach out. My family owns a very large fab shot. We build the connection at a power plant from the generator to the transformer. We have two of the biggest Omax waterjets in southern Ohio

Going for high moisture corn or dry corn? Big blue silo will work for dry corn as long there is a fan on the bottom

Blue bin should be ok as long the ground not mushy. Sell corn before spring.

Was the grain you put in the silo damp or wet? Maybe it froze on the side where the dent formed.

I always thought that all farms that used Harvestores went bankrupt:). Good video question tank depot. Guessing it’s cheaper to replace the entire tank
@jdtractorman744511 ай бұрын
Most dairy farms went bankrupt, got out of the business completely or diversified what they were doing because of the crappy prices they get for their milk. The prices are bad a heck of a lot more than good most of the time. It has nothing to do with having a Harvestore silo or not. That's probably a thought dreamed up by a city person that's never been on a farm.
@arnoldmayer69143 жыл бұрын
Only guys in North Dakota that use harvestore silos were Dairy Farmers they were known as blue tombs and there must be some truth in their statement as there aren't many milk farms left in the state

Did you open up the vents on top when pulling from it. That steel isn’t that thin. But they are air tight. Bins are not. Btw. Sell the silo and have it taken down. Don’t think the porcelain cladding is all that valuable for selling it as scrap iron.
