I remember seeing Humber Hawks and Snipe/Super Snipe in the 1960's. They were regarded as high-end cars even then.🚙🚙🚙

I’m surprised Fuss hasn’t sorted out the odd mechanical issue to make it mechanically perfect, however Fuss has explained it perfectly at the end that he’s busy enough. Fair shout, great video thank you!

Those in the Midlands are so lucky to live where there's an engineering heritage. I used to try to do classic cars and the trouble was always trying to get a company to do, not necessarily what you want but at least what they say they're going to do.. I recall living in Slough and visiting every car body company in the phone book showing them my photographs of the Cortina I wanted spraying having completed the welding and filling.. A few said they don't do restorations, fair enough. Some saw my photographs of the rolling shell and said bring it down so we can see. Three wanted paying for the ten minute journey to my garage. Some said they'd come and never turned up. Lots asked why was I doing it. Many tried to talk me out of doing it or said you wouldn't be able to afford it mate. Then there was one that got angry that I was trying to get quotes and accused me of wasting everybody's time. Eventually I got three companies interested. One guy came round and I assumed he'd look at it and from experience say so many thousands. Instead he spent ages trying to make some computer programme he had work that he said he had to use for some taxation reason. Weeks later after chasing his quote he admitted it was too much for him. Another company could do it and said £4000 but that he was busy with the GB team at the Seoul Olympics. Getting warning signs I kept him in reserve. The third had a couple of old cars in their shed but I could see that at least one hadn't been worked on for ages. They quoted £5000 and not for six months, he'd have to send his man to have another look. The guy came and told me he couldn't see why anyone was cautious as I'd done a fantasistic job and spraying it would be a quick and easy matter. I told them I'd deliver it on January 2nd. That day I arrived and the boss said it couldn't be until March. I told him that I'd already waited 6 months and if he didn't take it now and start then I'd go to my alternate. A that point he caved in and they started on it with me visiting every few days to mke sure they didn't stop. I supplied the paint as he said they couldn't get it. Six weeks later I got it back with only a few things they'd done wrong. I think they wanted another £600 because of things that they hadn't noticed originally. When I ask owners at shows who sprayed their cars they always say the same thing: A mate sprayed it for £50. They're the kind of friends to have.

I suspect the front brake backplates were fitted on the wrong sides. ie. N/S fitted to O/S and vice versa thereby giving leading edge brake shoes where there should be trailing shoes making braking in reverse more sharper

@Martini V8. Would you need to double de-clutch when you need to change down a gear? And be at a standstill to select first gear because it did not have synchromesh?
