WE TOOK OUR VANS OFF ROAD! 4x4 sprinter weekend in the Peak District.

This week I went to a meet up with the 4x4 sprinter van group to try out the van on some east lanes. Great company and a noice location.
Very interesting to depend on a 4x4s traction control but I’m definitely happy with how the van will progress as it is turned into an overland campervan.

Them vans are way more capable than I thought, try the kumo kl71 tyres, had the on my 4x4s never got punches and amazing in the mud👍🇬🇧

Great video Rich just wanted to let you know about tyre options- I run Radar Renegade R/T+ on my Defender 110 and I’m really impressed with them. Radar have one of the Cooper designers with them now so are a good match to the stt pro’s. Cheers buddy and good luck and keep up the great videos.🤙

I had some BFGs AT tyres. Couldn’t take to them. Everyone assuring me they are great tyres but wasn’t happy with them. Fitted some Toyo open country MTs and miles better. Road noise about the same too

They are alright but when it’s loaded up different I wouldn’t trust it. I just trust the feeling when the weight starts to wobble.

Good vlog. nice to see it working. got grabber AT2 tyres on a 90 defender very impressed on road. Motor stops all weathers so far. Off road good on the easy lanes on the long Mynd. Havent Knowingly tried them in deep mire or are they that good I havent noticed? (think the former) but they feel a lot better than the Venturer endurance I had on previous.

Most of the people driving these sprinters are going to have a serious problem when the overly rough terrain usage has taken its toll - the ones who will suffer most are those with overpriced conversaions that need to be ripped out of their destroyed van. The 4x4 mode on these vehicles is for wet grass locations encountered by utility companies - they are NOT for off roading. These vehicles (which have only seen popularity over the last 5yrs) are not going to be driving for long. And this is coming from someone who owns a 907 4x4. The 4x4 mode is great for wet campsites or at festivals when I'm rigging/derigging on a wet field. They should not be taken along trails so rough to bring a tyre inches off the ground.
