We finally tried overnight train in India. We took it from Kochi to Goa and it was surprisingly great. We had only chance to take sleeper class because we booked our ticket one day before and we're really lucky to get them. We love traveling to India by train; it was one of our best experiences!

For food in trains you can use IRCTC CATERING,TRAVELKHANA app on android or ios store where you can order food online.You just have to give your ticket PNR no details and select the food menu, and they will deliver the food at your coach and seat..

When I visited India, we took a train all the way from Udaipur back to Delhi. I think it was about 12 hours. It was one of the best experiences, I wouldn't have missed it! I kind of wished it was during the daytime, so we could have watched the scenery go by, but it was fun at night, too. Our trip was not quite as rustic as yours, we had a pillow and a sheet and a blanket. I was on the top bunk, though, so it was a little tricky getting up and down that ladder!

When i saw the video title i was literally thinking about my December 2017 train trip from Ernakulam to Mumbai via same sleeper class. And then i've seen exactly the same situation of you guys which i have been through! like in mine setuation, I had to reach the station at 2pm and the guys i mate at the hostel, three people. One from Germany, one from Brazil and one from New Zealand invited me for lunch i couldn't say no and joined them, how can you say no to such love from people. As i had already packed and did the formalities of check out so it wasn't a problem and I thought i would make to the station by time but ferry was bit late, and on road too much traffic in the way and so many red signals too. I was in same type of auto and i was telling the auto drive. "I have to reach by 2 can't miss my train." Exactly at 2 i have reached to the station. I was so confused and tens but i was on time and i was figuring out to go on which platform train would arrive,, onecket checker and cop helped me to figure out. I have also used this website runningstatus.in so i knew train hadn't arrived as it was late. Then finally arrived after 20 minute. I have seriously forgotten that tens but really good moment of my journey. Your video brought back good memories. Thank y🙂u.

Sleeper is very risky. I know of an incident that happened to someone close to me. He had a reserved ticket in sleeper class. A gang of people came, not sure if they even had any ticket. They occupied his seat when he went to the bathroom. When he came back, he demanded his seat. The argument got very violent. They tossed him out of moving the train. He fell unconscious in the tracks. The train ran over and he lost his leg. No idea who the perpetrators were. They are still at large.

i have seen many super rich Indians traveling in these low cost trains. In better indian trains you will get all facilities but you will miss the Chaos, funny naughty kids, people offering food dryfruit and juices to each other, playing cards with strangers, taking selfies, that piping hot tea and plateful of difference cuisine after every few minutes. In a single journey you will meet different people from different caste, religion, culture with different languages and totally different home cooked food. You can experience the real life fun and lots of smiling people with open window and various traditional artist at different stations. if you prefer trains which have different compartment for every couple/family you will get all facilities that you get in premium hotelz but you surely miss alll this real-life fun.

You can sleep in these train only when you feel sleepy. It isn't really a comfortable class but just good enough for a long journey. And you would keep getting up 2-3 times at night. Anyway it's value for money cuz the cost of seat would be definitely less than $9 for the journey these guys took. Anyway there are better options for comfortable travel like ac sleepers which are quite comfortable.
@Keepontravelling
@Keepontravelling 6 жыл бұрын
Kristyna & Romain it depends which train and class you take. I don't like travellers concentrating on restrooms. It can be bad in advanced countries also. There are travellers like way away who do videos only on toilets, Tents and post. I don't expect such things from your vlog. Do you know there are trains which are exactly like plane "Tejas" between Delhi and Chandigarh. Then they will roll out for every big city. It's changing. It's better than some countries where convenient Rail and Road transportation is zero.
@Keepontravelling
@Keepontravelling 6 жыл бұрын
The JoSi Show Things are Changing. Also depends which train and class you travel. India is rolling out many trains with Bio restrooms. Some trains are like Planes. Same amenities. There are some advanced countries which has zero convenient and affordable public transportation.

Kristyna & Romain yes trust me it happens mostly. I have got twice into fights with others . . Hehe. But I heard new rules has been proposed by d government that no waiting list people to be allowed inside the train but still people are coming and causing trouble to others. Modi goverment is best, India is changing. The only problem is with the citizens.
@KristynaRomain
@KristynaRomain 6 жыл бұрын
But how it’s possible they’re selling more tickets than seats? Even if you’re traveling overnight train and it’s full some people still get there and take your seat? Even in ac 3 tier etc? That’ll be great if they cancel it but after they should put more trains 😉 hope it won’t happen to you again!
@ketankapri1901
@ketankapri1901 6 жыл бұрын
Kristyna & Romain while booking ticket we come to know the availability of seats and if the seats are in waiting list still people purchase it in hope that it might get confirmed till the boarding time but when it won't get confirmed still people dare and get into the train. It's totally people's fault. Not the ticket counter or government And in 3A tiers no waiting ticket is allowed it's only in sleeper class. So plz be careful and avoid sleeper class. In all terms AC coach is best. Enjoy your holidays in India. U will experience different environment here. It has change many people's life in many ways.

It was a pleasant ride because the train was from kerala.... It would have been a different story up north.... Trains originating from kerala are much cleaner and less noisier than elsewhere in India

I don't know that the food which you bought from pantry was good or bad ,as a regular train traveller I know the condition of food ( not in every train or every other places ) it is not good , I don't know how you don't know how you managed it.. It's better to carry tiffin from home or parcel it from good restaurants...
