Thanks for the compliment! I had less than 20k on my Sprinter when I traded it because we needed something bigger. I towed a 2300 lb. Fiat, and it was like there was nothing there. And, yes, I traveled through mountains in PA, WVA and Virginia on my way to Florida. The Mercedes is a great engine, but there were two problems with maintenance. First was the availability of qualified Techs. There was only one in my area and I had to travel an hour away. Second is cost. Mercedes’ has an “A” service schedule (more basic) and a “B” service schedule (more involved). You’re not getting away cheap on either one-several hundred dollars each time. At

Hi Bobby. We have a Melbourne sprinter. Could you PLEASE tell me where the slide controller is hidden? Worst Easter egg hunt ever! Thanks in advance. Like the new rig.

Mike, if you have a 24L model like my 2017, the controller is under the mattress at the foot of the bed. Other models may be elsewhere. But, you can get a definite answer by calling Jayco at 800-517-9137. They can be very helpful.

Newbie here. Congrats on the new rig! Definitely WOW factor. Great content and great channel. Thanks for all the info. I'm seriously considering the Odyssey 26M like you have here. I'm looking at going full-time with my dog. My questions pertain to the temps inside. Will my dog be okay inside while I'm at work for eight or so? Or will it be too hot? I'm in the SW, San Diego specifically. I will be on shore power, will the factory AC unit be enough to keep my dog safe? I don't want to cook my dog inside. My second question is regarding the flooring. What are your thoughts on the glue issue? I've heard on a few sites the flooring on these models tend to yellow out due to the excessive glue used during installation. While the yellowing doesn't really bother me, I'm more concerned with the possible toxicity of this adhesive since my dog will be walking on it. Is this something I should be concerned about? I figured with Izzy making appearances, you really come off as a dog person. You have helped me in so many ways. Thanks again and keep it coming.

Thanks so much! We travel with our small dog Izzy in Florida in the Spring. Temps got up to 5 days in the 90’s this year. We have dual AC units on ours, and it works great. We don’t leave her in it alone for long when it’s that hot. We do have a doggie cam and a temperature monitor. For longer periods I would suggest going to Waggle and getting one of their monitors. Find discounts on Matt’s RV reviews website. The glue flooring issue pertains to pre-2022 models. Ours does not have it. I would definitely avoid that, if possible, or find one that was already redone. Join our Facebook group for more background. Best of luck! We love ours!
Nice! We have a 25R! Question. Do put the blackstone on top of your grill when you are using it?

So far I haven’t. That usually goes on the picnic table.

I'm curious as to the problems you had with the maintenance costs of the Sprinter chassis. I have a 2006 Dodge diesel pickup, and I have minimum maintenance issues with it compared to gasoline powered vehicles. Granted, if it did break down the repair would be more expensive; but I haven't done anything in 160,000 miles other than brakes and oil changes. Maybe the newer engines that use DEF, have more maintenance issues? I just love the fact I can tow anything with my diesel, and it looks like an RV of that size would really need that kind of power in the mountains. The maintenance issues, were they more based on the cost of Mercedes repairs, or do you think it was more the design of that particular diesel engine? The fuel mileage is much better with diesel, but now that diesel costs around a dollar more per gallon, I cannot argue with you on that point. I just love the power available with diesel. Thanks for the straightforward approach you put in your videos. They come across as one would be talking to a good friend.

Trade in value on the Melbourne is much better than the Ford after a few years

Probably true, but the trade in value on all RV’s is pretty good right now.
