This was my favorite yet. I keep hoping AGI will wake up and offer transcendence to humanity before I die. I doubt it's a technology humans could create, but it is one we could use.

similar to 'the consciousness collector' story and maybe an evolution of it but definitely more hopeful thanks for a great story

I think this is the best of these stories so far. You've done a lot more showing and a great deal less just telling. But the revelations that they undergo are a bit too dry and still told. In such a short story it is hard to develop the culture but even so a bit more could be done. It might be better to break this up into several short stories where you are given more time to make the story more meaty. 1) this ones main story drawn out and more intense. 2) The alien computer things but think about this culture a bit more and try to be less borg/ ancient ones from stargate. You need to develop the why or how was overwhelming more to grab the readers. 3) the negotiations with and bedrail of earth and possibly the agreement and new direction. also might be good to show how biology has its importance too. I really like the universe building and the possibilities of this story. Really well done.

@maikeweige1548 I totally get where you're coming from. I just don't plan on making multi-part stories. All my stories are meant to be stand-alone, and as you said, it's tough to fit everything into a short story. So, I usually have to focus on some elements more while giving less attention to others.
