The Glen Eagles set of courses are some of the most picturesque in the world! I was lucky enough to attend the Scottish Open at the Queens Course the year that kiwis Frank Nobilo and Greg Turner played - was blown away by the depth of the bunkers!

Turning up to Gleneagles in May & getting no wind & only a hint of a rain shower.... lucky lads!! The deep-fried Mars bar thing is a myth - nobody here eats that muck. Haggis is not a favourite of anyone I know either. Black pudding (a type of blood sausage) on the other hand, tends to be a regular part of a traditional fry-up for most folk. Hopefully y'all can make it back over sometime (I recommend 2nd half of July / 1st half of August for best chance of a dry day or 2!) to have some "fun" getting round a traditional links course or 2. I know you're not a fan of the links Luke.... but surely you have to give some of the Open courses a go?... there are millions of YooToob viewers out here who will never have the opportunity to play these places, & I reckon they'd thoroughly enjoy a cinematic Shayler edit of yourself & whoever else cursing your way round Carnoustie etc in 20/gusting35mph winds!! ;) p.s. ignore any whiney folk complaining about not doing matchplay cos it's a "Ryder Cup" series - the point is that you're showing folk the Ryder courses ffs! ;)

Here in Victoria, BC, Canada, they are called Scottish broom. They are a sturdy invasive bush. When I was a teenager, they gave me terrible hay fever. I was a very good sprinter unfortunately the 400 meters was my best. The Scottish broom surrounded the stadium at the University of Victoria. I still won with my eyes half closed and a plugged nose. Luckily, I grew out of it at 20 years old.

Played the Queens course 50 years ago , wasp flew up my Dad's pant leg and was entertaining the family and others on the first tee dancing some sort of highland fling . My mother was calling take your pants off Brian which of course was good advice. Fun game golf.

Loved playing Gleneagles. There is both gorse and broom at Gleneagles. Gorse is very spiny/prickly as you will soon find out if you try to retrieve a ball from the middle of it. Broom is much softer but both have the deep golden yellow flowers and have pea like seed pods. On a hot summers day you hear them pop and crackle.

Gleneagles is such a great golf resort. The hotel and lodges are top notch, with some great restaurants and bars. The 3 courses are absolutely stunning. Love it there. Looking forward to the Finchy collab.

I managed to briefly get my hands on the Ryder Cup during the build up to the 2014 tournament. My club in Glasgow was one of those selected during a tour of the country. Hope you boys enjoyed your brief visit to our cold and wet corner of the world.

I was so ready to see Sean in Luke’s videos again. The NZ guys are good golfers, but the NZ & Aussie videos were more focused on having a bro party on the courses vs. playing good competitive golf. Matches with Sean are more focused on trying to play well and not as much as bro party stuff. I watch golf (whether on tv or YT) to be entertained by good golfers playing good golf. If I want somebody to make me laugh, I’ll watch a comedy video. I read many comments about pro golf on tv bring boring. If you put any YT golfer in a Tour event playing for prize money and I guaranty you that nobody would be bro partying in a serious competition. It is unrealistic to expect tournament golfers competing for millions in prize money to be joking and playing around like YT golfers do. Olympic athletes or pros in other sports don’t bro party like YT golfers do. Nobody expects gymnasts or swimmers to be “entertainers”, but for some reason there is an expectation among some that pro golfers should be “entertainers”. Newsflash….if one is watching a pro golf event, the quality of the golf is the entertainment, just like the quality of the gymnastics and swimming is the entertainment in those sports.

I was a member at Gleneagles before I moved out here to Middle East. If there's a Gleneagles in heaven, put me on the waiting list ! Kings Course is my favourite but Queens always a challenge too, with the gorse all too close to some greens. Not a fan of PGA (Ryder Cup course) but you guys did a commendable job.

100% when Luke says PGA golf is easier for all the reasons he listed. Throw in a caddy and they should consistently be below par. Rules of golf should be altered a little for amateurs on the "lost" ball piece. My friends and I play the "gallery" rule. If it isn't way off target and not extremely deep in the crap, its a free drop. If you had any sort of gallery, your ball would be found quickly instead of having to hit a provisional or going back to the previous spot. I've played courses after a tournament and Luke is correct, the rough isn't really an issue most of the time with how trampled down it gets.
