soooo what do we think? should I make more Goan food videos? 😬 Feel free to give me constructive criticism on how I can improve this format too!

This is going to be an interesting one. Some suggestions: 1. The veg side of Goa you never knew (tourists usually stick to daily tandoori roti paneer, etc) but knowing what Goan options they have and how they can order at a local restaurant would help. 2. With limited knowledge, I understand that the local seafood, non veg and snack option in Goa is different from what is found in Mumbai. 3. Would be fun to watch a comparison of seafood Mumbai vs Goa 4. Solo woman trip to Goa. Safe restaurants, shacks, stay. Similar to a hostel stay video in a SEA country.

Pls share about what all transport facilities available in South Goa like auto ,Uber ola which is the cheapest transport other than bus
@MagaliVaz11 ай бұрын
The situation is pretty bad, nothing good to share there. Bus is the cheapest option with limited route. Private rickshaw, taxi and bike guys are the next option but they're extremely expensive and don't allow uber and ola to function. It's a mess. The next good option is hiring a car or bike but you obviously need to know to ride or drive for that.

We went here a week ago (before we watched this video) and we were so disappointed 😢 I ordered myself a regular thali and Einstein ordered the bhatcar thali. The difference in two is only the extra Sanna and an additional fried fish in the bhatcar thali. Both the thalis were very disappointing in flavour as well. Or maybe we were unlucky with the flavours that day.
@MagaliVaz10 ай бұрын
Did the regular thali also have a lot of variety? Cos that's the main think I liked about the bhatkar one tbh. We liked the flavours adequately, and appreciated that they are not spicy. Service was a whole other matter, way below par- we had a hard time communicating with waiters despite speaking english and konkani, senior servers were busy elsewhere & I had one of them come & try to take to me, & offer to give a video byte only as he noticed the camera when we were leaving. Also for most of our time there they played truly awful music blaster so loud & changed to something more suited & pleasant as we were leaving. Plus, they introduced this around October I think??? And by Jan itself they've reduced a lot of the things included in the thali. But I liked it still overall, though please share any of your favourite places esp in this area over DM. I wanna try High Tide next!

That looks so good! Honestly, a lot of people often confuse Goan and Malvani cuisine. Although, a few items in the thali may have some influence, but the spices and flavour can be very different :) I am so happy to see all three of you together in some of those frames ❤️
@MagaliVaz11 ай бұрын
thank you Priya! I have very little knowledge of food outside of my own cuisine (goan catholic, heavily influenced by portuguese) so I'm trying to learn about the others including goan vegetarian food which is surprisingly quite different from mumbai vegetarian food even. I guess this definitely has a coastal maharashtra influence because before occupation, Goa probably just shared a konkan type cuisine. Malvani food is supposed to be spicy right? that scares me a little.

@sunshine820211 ай бұрын
I tried the Thali a couple of times while in Goa and vowed I will never go back to eating one again. I think they fill it up with copious amounts of rice and just a whole bunch of other random food. I miss the catholic Goan fare of sorpotel, cafreal, xacuti, rechad etc…
@MagaliVaz11 ай бұрын
Hahaha I think the regular restuarant Goan thalis can be a bit boring due to lack of variety? Though I know many enjoy them. I really loved this even more than I thought I would because of so many dishes. I appreciate our catholic Goan food a lot, started enjoying sorpotel and choris only in adulthood. Xacuti is my favourite, what's yours? But since moving here and eating quite a lot of that, my brain was craving something different. I'm looking forward to trying more restaurants with mom. 🥰

ohh that's so unnecessary of them lol. you may have gone to a place frequented by locals. this place seemed to have more tourists so I didn't see any of that but mom warned me that I might get angry comments. as a goan I can honestly say we seem to be more judgemental & nosy than other communities. as long as people aren't hurting or troubling anyone, what's the issue? don't let that spoil your experience though.
