So a couple of weeks ago we went to New York for the KZbin Creator Summit, where we met up with our friends Cristine & Ben from SimplyNailogical and Rob and Corinne from ThreadBanger, and we decided to throw together a few quick collab videos - so here is mine! For those wanting an explanation as to why the eye shadow is not acting normal/why color affects taste Cornstarch and water creates what is commonly known as "ooblek" which is a non-newtonian fluid. With pressure, it acts like a solid which is why during mixing it looks closer to a correct texture. Without it, it "grows" due to the lack of pressure causes the substance to act like a fluid. Way to improve this? Avoid using water to begin with. Water evaporates incredibly slowly and will get easily trapped within the powders. Alcohol would work better. The extra cornstarch is probably not necessary. Powdered sugar already contains corn starch usually to keep the powder aspect. Either way, it will suck. If you really want to create eye shadow (but not to wear because a lot of things are dangerous to get in your eyes and eye shadow is used awfully close to your eyes), have some fun with different colors/glitters/things you can powder into color and mix with corn starch/chalk powder and isopropyl alcohol. You'll have a more interesting time and (once dried) you could try on your arms/on dolls/other surfaces that isn't close to orifices that can cause dangerous health issues. The color affecting taste thing is actually really common in food science. We all have previous experience with flavors and colors, and as such, we instinctively assume it must taste a certain way. A fun experiment is to take propel (or other clear flavored liquid) and add the smallest touch of different food coloring to multiple portions. Ask someone who doesn't know what it is to guess flavors. If you make ice cream, you can really screw with people by coloring food coloring opposite to what you would expect (such as strawberry pink to mint); the previous experiences with certain colors meaning certain flavors cause confusion on what you taste.

Odor Angel it’s typically made from just cornstarch and water The oobleck reacts in a way where If you apply a lot of pressure quickly the cornstarch and water separates and you are hitting just cornstarch (I’m not 100% sure if that’s correct I could be wrong but that’s what I’ve been taught)
