Growing up as a young Chamorro. I never knew how to speak languages. My neighbors kid would laugh at me. So I ran home and told my mom. So she invite my aunts from melesso. So they thought me some basic languages. So as time goes. I was able to speak the Chamorro.

Hineksa actually means food that contains carbs like rice, bread, breadfruit, potatoes, etc. But majority of the time, it's referred to as cooked rice.

I'm from the Philippines and very similar words and culture! From where I'm from, we call uncooked riced "bugas". Just very interesting! We are after all one austronesian people! :D

I'm dying!!! I'm carolinian and I understood but then again its understandable because there are also some carolinian kids that dont speak or write. But they can understand. Chamorro language isnt the same language spoken before the arrival of the Spanish. Its a mix of Filipino and Spanish that evolved into what it is today... c'mon guys.

It’s confusing what race are Guam people..it’s weird like it’s in Micronesia but it’s a USA territory, the people have American accents ,they look kind of Polynesian / Hispanic, yet the language is kind of like a mixture of Indonesian/Spanish/Polynesian..it’s a wierd culture like I don’t know how to identify it..
