Its not the exact same as being at school, everyone can see you/is looking at you through that screen, at school were all facing the same way. You should try to be a karen and complain, I don't have to show my face but we get a 10 min lecture of bs if we dont use our cameras. So yes we "have to" but not really at the same time lmao. Some try to make us turn our cameras on for 2 secs in the beginning of class, and then we can turn them off.

"I just have a really bad mental health day today." *THIS* is what online school has done to so many students. I used to be relatively ok at school and as much as I hate things in it, I could stand it. I wake up in the morning now, and cry for 10 minutes and then get dressed and slump at my desk and struggle the whole day with the content and with being able to find any enjoyment at all. It's so stressful and literal TORTURE! I just want to got to physical school so I can sit in a classroom and seperate my personal life to school life. wow sorry I needed to rant. :)

omg me too :( I’m a junior so this is supposed to be the year where we consider college, cram for the SAT, juggle 19729373938 AP classes, and it feels like everyone has the same expectations of us as if we were going to school in person. but we can’t even take the SAT, can’t go on college tours, can’t handle a crap ton of online classes. At the end of the day i stare at my ceiling and wonder what I am even going to do with my life. Then I go to bed at 1AM after doing all my homework, wake up at 6AM and it starts all over again. I used to love my room because it was my safe space but now school has invaded that too and the only way to “escape” the pressure of school is to go on a walk & be afraid that a random Karen is going to breathe on you. :/ damn i needed to let that stuff out too.💀💀

ok but lowkey, comments are not wrong. online class is harder, in many ways (of course you can wake up later but depending on the school, you may have class way later). in my class, we have three classes every day for five days a week. however, projects and presentations are still a thing somehow and each time the question sheets always writes 60 questions and AT LEAST 4 sheets. not only that shy, socially “unlikeable” or awkward students have problems with opening their mics and cameras, some students also have problems at home. ALSO, “less fortunate” students doesn’t have enough devices (me) to do their online class on :(

I have 8 hours of zoom classes a day then 2-3 hours of homework on the computer after that, and the work is very hard because the teachers don't adequately teach each subject so we just have to guess and use google to help us. I am not learning anything this year, I am merely trying to retain enough information to pass each class.

"this experience was heightened" it wasn't, it really wasn't. distance learning in high school is way harder than this. the essays and homework assignments are definitely harder and you definitely get more. this is like what i had expected distance learning to be like but it ended up actually being much harder. this was a really cool video though and really entertaining.

I'm a teacher, and it really bothers me that so many parents are claiming to "homeschool" their children. This is NOT homeschooling. In homeschooling, the parents develop and implement the curriculum. Online learning is still taught by a professional, and calling it homeschooling implies that teachers aren't working hard when we are working harder than ever. We have been getting a lot of abuse lately :(

Some parents are still teaching their kids. I know teachers who post the worksheets and don’t have zoom calls or any videos so the parents have to read it and essentially teach their kids. Some are using it wrong but some parents do have to teach their kids, at least where I live.
