@@nenam3057 because not all my teeth had grown in yet and my mouth was too small to fit all of them, but granted I had to get them put on and taken off 3 separate times. The first two times I knew I needed them, but this third and final round was my decision, but they encouraged that I got them one final time. In March it’ll be 2 years with this third round and I’m so ready to get them off lol 😂

A lot of people get braces after 40, some because of bite or other tooth health issues. I have them for the second time at 45 because they move, not a big deal. My boss have them in his late 50's because of his bite the dr told him in a couple of years he wouldn't be able to chew properly.

I have braces currently, and I was taught to brush upwards (like halfway on the bracket and halfway on the tooth) and then the same thing, only on the top of the brackets

basically your brush is straight (since parallel are two lines that dont meet, so the brush is below the lip) and then put it to 45 degrees up near your gum and then brush!

Braces Horror Story: When I was getting my first set of bottom brackets ( 4th year of having tops ), they assigned a trainee to do my brackets. I was fine with it because everyone needs a starting pint and I trusted the doctor to stop her if she was doing something wrong. Well...😔😔😔. The experience was horrible. She got glue all over the inside of my mouth, burnt my gums with the light that you dry the glue with, and the GLUE MY CHEEK TO MY BRACKETS!!! And then she RIPPED my cheek off the brackets and had to get the skin off that was still hanging on. ( The doctor had a problem at another office and had to leave and left a nurse in charge). I don’t know what happened to her because I didn’t complain because I didn’t want to get her in trouble. I think she got fired tho because I never saw her there again. I still go to that office 2 years later

Lol I had over crowding so I never naturally had a gap but when I got braces they had to pull my teeth apart and then back together again and when they did that I could squirt water out of the gap in between my front teeth, kinda like those statues 😌

You should invest in a water flosser. You can get them cheap on amazon. They're more effective in removing plaque than string floss. It takes literally one minute to floss with it.

I could never get the floss threaders through my teeth, even when I still had gaps in between, so my dad got me those little flosser things and I just used the pointy end on the other side that is supposed to be for the teeth in the back of your mouth. It could fit between the wire and my tooth and i figured if it was safe for my back teeth it had to be safe for the front too. So basically I was using the pointy end of a floss pick like that little metal hook scaping thing at the dentist.

i can never floss right 😭😭. i can floss my front teeth (top and bottom). its so hard for me to floss my molars cause it's hard to get it in between my teeth. 😔 i drool alot which makes the floss stick to the braces

I'm almost 40 and I finally got braces 3 months ago. The struggle has been real when it comes to eating all the foods I used to love to eat. However, I lost 30 lbs. I started working out and cut out a lot of foods I used to eat which was mainly unhealthy (but taste so good).
