Some updates were tempting, but its kinda just over the place with nothing that would make it worth to invest time on. Cuz theres ACC and others that are doing almost everything and more already better. The money wasting on the esport series seemed a bit weird from the start too…

i think ACE will lean more towards sports- and supercars rather than racecar machinery, so i am not sure its a direct competitor for Rennsport. i think Rennsport has to compete with the likes of iRacing, ACC, now also LMU, rf2 and i think it has not really something special going for itself.

Trying to understand what Rennsport is trying to do here. Have yet to see anything above and beyond what’s already available for cheaper and not in beta. The second time in a week that we learned also that a game in development is selling DLC before the game is even finished. More competition is better, but I don’t see anything better here. Not worth throwing money at anyways.

1- Did they create a brand new physics engine? like, they started with a stone and they carved it into a city? I'm asking cause previous sims made us think this is impossible. Sims usually "pouch" a developer who has the code, or buy the licence or something.. 2- No need for setups, they are endless rabbit holes that only give the advantage to those who pay more. Just make it a sim without setups. Dare to try something new (a major sim with locked setups). 3- Important, did you notice anything new in the sim? anything innovative or revolutionary? for example I noticed many parameters on the screen and a rich UI. Is there anything this sim can do that others can't?

Paying almost 60 euros for a few liveries and name on billboard and on a track has to be the biggest scam ever. I know they try to sell it as a F2P game but that can't be the way to make a profit. I mean look at raceroom as an example. might not be the best sim out there. But that gives atleast some proper bang for buck.

RRE in my opinion is massively overlooked due to its ageing visual aesthetics, its honestly probably one of the best feeling sims out there and its almost fifteen years old. You're totally right, with its variety and given that each car is available to test pre-purchase provides that safe investment feeling, which a lot of others dont do and not to mention the many seasonal discounts they offer. In comparison a new livery on RRE costs 29p (You cant even buy a Freddo for that these days) Not all cars are world beating like ill still prefer ACC for GT3 but for things like TCR, Procars, DTM, 90's DTM its still unmatched to this day

Even compared to the original AC, most FWD cars feel like they only have grip on the driven wheels, and the back wheels are just there, and when the weight comes off the grip is also completely gone.

I don't mind limited setups but the realism has to be translated to the ffb. VR and sound implementation could also give any new sim racing a boost in sales/

I am rather conflicted... The financial model of the game seems alright. It's free to play, has shiny content to bring people's attention. 20 euro for a car is close to iRacing model, which also requires a subscription. What probably is an unpopular opinion - I don't mind animated liveries. When given enough room, people love to customize their cars to some ridiculous levels. Though if we won't be able to design our skins like that, I'd be a bit disappointed. On paper it doesn't look bad, however, Rennsport still seems very rough around the edges. UI is still way too raw. There's lack of visual cues, icons, variety. All seem very monotonous. I know it's a beta and it's probably going to change, but I feel like this would require a core redesign of some UI elements. Same for in-game HUD. It just doesn't look that appealing when you take a quick glance. Another thing is graphics and that's probably what can be defined with "rough around edges" the most. It's easy to see they're using plenty of base Unreal Engine systems with ghosting motion blur behind cars, not overly saturated post processing etc. I'm afraid the game will lack in CPU optimization and will not be easily accessible to players that don't have the strongest PCs, yet it seems like with F2P model they tend to aim at such audience. Judging from the gameplay, cars still have tires that feel like they're made out of clay. It seems a bit more fluid than before but I don't think the characteristics are going away anytime soon. Feels like that's how the physics were written and they will probably not change it drastically any time in the future. I really hope they bring FFB to a better level. Using T300 in previous betas, there was almost no detail whatsoever. If they don't bring the base game to a better quality, I'm afraid that this entire plan will fall on its knees. The feeling of this game needs to be very good to convince people to spend so much money on it. They lean to the virtual side of things here, dealing with ESL, getting esport drivers. Real-life motorsport representation which excels in iRacing might have a much smaller role in here. I'm not sure if that will make the title appealing to a huge chunk of simracers. We will see I guess.

Looks like it has the same graphical glitch as ACC, in external views the wheels dont look like they are rotating at the same speed as the car. Must be an Unreal engine thing.

Thanks for video review. I just tried the beta and don't quite understand what more this game has to offer us that we can't do in other games. Can someone please explain. I run rtx 4090 and am not impressed with the track graphics. They are worse than Automobilista 2 which is an 11 yr old game. Track graphics don't even come close to Forza Motorsport or Le Mans Ultimate. Car graphics are good, however, the available cars are very limited. I am not sure why someone would want to invest their time and $ in this game given the current gaming market and especially considering Assetto Corsa Evo's soon to release. Love your channel content btw.

its a lot about the physics and handling.. Evo still has the best handling engine on the market. IT will also look better and run smoother. Thats why they didn't go back to unreal engine after ACC. This is my understanding anyways.

So while it affords a bit of variety, it also takes away from consistency since all the cars aren’t made to the same standard. I hope there’s more multiplayer focus with Evo, otherwise my time will still be spend on iRacing.

No, and they will not fix this. EPIC games needs to fix this with there unreal 5 engine. And they will not fix this probably. So i think Rennsport won't get triple support. Maybe in a couple of years,..but not in 2024.

Im so conflicting it has so many intriguing things, but the marketing and vagueness of the game are making it hard for me to be excited. It has so much potential but not much to show for it. It's frustrating because it uses unreal engine 5 and has amazing graphics, but physics currently needs a lot of work. And the sound design is great, but im so conflicted! I hope this doesn't fail, but it's not looking good for the future. I hope it's successful.

I don't understand why this game exists in the first place, It's currently a more expensive and inferior version of Assetto Corsa Competizione. It has no mayor innovation, and it's comming out while Assetto Corsa EVO is around the corner. They're just dropping their special packages for some cash grab because they know it's already over.

We disabled DLSS and Motion Blur, regardless of the AA, it never goes away 100%, but DLAA seems to create the best results so far. -Michel

Can anyone play in VR? I have a Quest3, connect via Link Cable, show my PC Screen (in Quest Link VR) and click on Rennsport. The game opens in a 2D screen in VR. I tried all possible Launch Parameters in EpicGames launcher like -vr openvr, -vr oculus, -oculus, -openvr, -vr, -openxr, -vr openxr and nothing works.
