Alex and Ollie take on the Inoes Grenadiers, cycling a lap of Mallorca in record time…can they beat them? Averaging 36kmp over 312km, in sweltering heat with vicious headwinds, was one hot, challenging island lap. Would it prove too much for the GCN presenters?

Only GCN would do an ad for an aero helmet in the heat of Mallorca. I think the next video should be an ad for thermal bibs and jerseys in August. I especially had a good laugh @12:27 when Ollie tried to cool his head off by pouring water over a helmet with no vents. At least the helmet felt more refreshed. 🤣😂 As for the boys, respect for fighting off the heat and the horrible helmet decision to finish the ride. You still kept a great pace with all that elevation.

@@CarlForde The problem with their math isn’t really the math, but the fact that unless you’re being paid to race, or you’re racing for money, which is a very tiny percentage of cyclists, who cares about 3-6 minutes? @@shepshape2585 or somewhere so windy you feel every open vent as you try to push home :) It's really not a warm helmet. I've been in 30c with it and it was great. If you ride slow so it's not pulling air through then sure, it starts getting toasty.

Hell of an effort to make it to the finish, looked quite sick and incoherent at the end. Ollie is now a serious endurance athlete and no longer the butt of jokes, chapeau!

High average speed OR very long distance OR high heat OR headwinds will push you hard. Doing ALL of them at once is definitely a recipe for suffering. Well done Alex!!! And Oli just casually knocking out 300km and looking fresh by the end - how about another video following up this, mentioning Alex's 6kg weight loss vs any Oli experienced, and compare how Oli and Alex fuelled and drank differently perhaps?

Amazing Kudos to Alex, I’ve been there with heat exhaustion and it takes insane amounts of effort just to do another 10 miles let alone 60 you did after the beginning of the bonk. Thing is however horrible once you know you can push yourself that far it’s easier the second time.

Fair.Play..! for Alex continuing. I've (we've all?) been in that place with bonk before and it was completely brutal. couldn't hear, couldn't push the pedals, vision near enough gone - no way could I carry on for hours in that heat... Complete and utter warrior. Good to see Oli loving the form he's worked hard to get - nothing greater than being in good form and feeling 110%!
