The reason whataburger is so hyped is bc it’s 24 hours so everyone gets it when they’re drunk, high, or hungover 😭 so it’s a million times better for those people. There’s some whataburgers that are better than others. The one closest to me does the best FRESHEST fries, the best chicken finger basket. Also they usually take FOREVER! But love the spicy ketchup, i could drink i it.

Whataburger is so integral to the Texas identity. After football games your whole school would be at the nearest Whataburger as well as the other school. I was in marching band and debate and we would go there after every contest and every game every competition. The best memories were made at Whataburger at 11:45 PM on a Friday or Saturday night

I grew up in Corpus Christi, TX (where whataburger was founded) and we literally had our homecoming group do dinner at the OG location before the dance freshman year of HS💀💀💀 They put down dining cloths and candles for us, too LMAOO 😂

Whataburger is just one of those special things that if you are texan, you grew up with and love. But sometimes when my out-of-state- friends visit, they just dont get it in the same way. I think its because the taste is like somewhat nostalgic. Either way, A1 thick & herty and the chop house burgers are my all time whata favs

Hello! Texan here. Whataburger has not been the same Whataburger for the past 5-6 years. It's decent for sure, but not what it use to be when I was younger.. The original founder/ owners sold Whataburger to someone in Illinois and it slowly started to decline. They were using other ingredients and changing up a lot of the amazing taste. FUCKED IT ALL UP!

You need to order a burger with toasted buns, cheese, pickles and mayo and get fries with ketchup mixed with their pepper. My favorite is the grilled chicken with bacon on a wheat bun but they discontinued it.

I got curious and had to look up the origin of the Patty Melt. I've not had one since I was a kid. They were definitely a staple on Diner menus! ❤ ORIGINS OF THE PATTY MELT If you’re of a certain age, you might recall getting patty melts at diners and drive-in restaurants on road trips or locally starting in the mid-20th century. It’s said that Tiny Naylor, owner of Biff’s Drive-Ins and Tiny Naylor Coffee Shop restaurants in California, came up with the concept at the end of the 1940s. Its design is also assumed to have given way to the equally ubiquitous tuna melt, another diner staple. The patty melt was first added to the menu at Tiny Naylor Coffee Shop as a beef patty between two slices of rye bread. To help spread the word, his son Biff Naylor - now owner of the Du-Par’s chain on the West Coast - added it to the menus across his family’s restaurants
