We marketed 200 of our calves on premier livestock auction online. We had a certain price and mind and we didn't hit it, so we ended up no sale-ing them. Then we fixed a 100 year old fence! Hope you enjoy :)

I really appreciate your father/son interaction. It appears that sometimes there is a little frustration, but you get past it. Then Dane sings I coulda been a cowboy... with that smile. Thanks guys. I like the faith is like wi-fi quote.

Im sorry that happened but I think I would of took the $. Wagyu really is a specialty market in the U.S. and without that they always bring pennies to the dollar of everything else. You have a nice set of cows and I know I would have a hard time not using Angus bulls. I realize that you would be like everybody else but then you would reach the top end of the market without all the headache. Good luck

The growth factor is why we raise the reds. My Akaushi (Red Wagyu) grow and grow fast. My weaning weights on my few calves (7) are all 500lbs+ on my fullbloods. Ranchers are harvesting fullblood reds at 18-24 months with good results mostly going prime. Some ranchers long feed them to 32 months for max marbling but you need a local market to do that. Heartbrand pays a premium on the calves. There are other buyers out there as well for the reds. A few more experienced ranchers I know say that high cattle prices cause a degradation in the premiums...but the wagyu hold their value when the prices are down. Packers can only pay so much until they cant make any money so when prices are high they dont pay more for wagyu (red or black). Best of luck in the Wagyu world!

We process wyua Cattle at one to (Jbs) plant in Nebraska. I only know a few stores in Arizona where the meat is shipped that get the wayu I beef so I see what you’re talking about if this was Japan different story, but I feel ya it’s a process feed yards are trying to figure out and more and more people are gonna want to raise this type of cattle soon even though there are people out there that are doing it it’s just not as big yet I understand in farming, it goes and cultures. You know you’ll have your black Angus raised you’ll have your crossbreed raiser Holstein Will pick up soon

I am trying to learn more about how the meat market works. The thing about animals versus produce is that as long as you can care for them, animals don't need to be harvested. Keeping them too long eats up your profits. While I can understand the appeal of fatty beef, personally i prefer the flavor of a tougher, leaner animal. Funny having to drag the Bobcat bucket along. You are lucky to have soil soft enough to push T posts in, instead of coral rock.

Awesome video Dane really enjoyed how your Dad spoke about the cattle at the start its all down to the feedlots once the figure out how to feed and finish those cattle that's the game changer It has to be stressful deciding to sell or not but you have to make the right decision for yourself and hope it's the best one Awesome job on the fencing and those puppies are growing mad can't believe how big the got Really enjoyed the video as always looking forward to the next one Best wishes from Ireland 🇨🇮

Blackburn makes nice compression connectors that eliminate bending Old wire . It's outside the box but saves time and resources. I see that a DC power tool machine makes short work of splicing. LineMen use them for the last 50 years or so. You answered my questions about marketing the wagu calves. Good luck, maybe just make grass fed wagu beef, the grass looks great.

Good video! When a young buck needs to learn let him make decisions on his own and learn from them. Replacing post, which ones would you replace if you owned it.? Lol?

Don’t ever stop doing what you’re doing, nothing on this earth can replace life on the ranch. If I knew then what I know now I would have never left ranching and rodeo. If someone offered me a million dollars or a ranch to work on I’d take the work over the money every time! As long as you’re bills are paid and you can stay afloat there’s no other way to live.
