No the sidewalk is not part of your lawn. The city maintains the roads and the sidewalks with your tax dollars. It is public and he is just being a dick. I live in the south of France and the constitution here states that the coastline is public property and owned by all citizens. So you can't have private beaches etc as we have the right to be able to walk the entire coast. Except that rich people build their terraces there anyway and hire security to keep people off the beach or rhe sidewalks! It's very frustrating!

5:14 - yeah, that's a public road. His property starts with his fence. The usual municipal road allowance on a street like this in Toronto is 66 feet from the curb. It might be different in this specific spot, but it's very unlikely that it's zero and it doesn't matter whether there's a sidewalk or not. Your taxes pay for that road, so you could have politely declined that guys "very friendly suggestion" to cross the road. Rich people don't own everything.

People place old items in good condition outside of their house for other people to pick up if they want free stuff. If no-one wants the items, the crane comes once per month to pick up the items and take them to the dump. Community members recycling old items is better for the environment, so we encourage people to do it. ☺️

Sorry Girls - You need to go upcycling again when people are spring cleaning. That's when they throw out lots of big things. Bonus if you can find a community/municipality that promotes this all at once. My community does this x2/year. It revolves around the trash cycle, as x2/year the trash hauler allows residents to throw away large items for free. So, these 2 days a year the curbs are loaded with items to upcycle. If you're feeling brave, my wife says you have an open invitation to come to St. Louis, MO and do this. She could even show you where to go.
@valerieann27514 жыл бұрын
We have this also in my community in IL. You can set your things out a few days before trash day and most of the things get picked up before the trash man comes. People drive thru the neighborhoods with their trucks and just pile it on .

TIP for when a lid doesn't open: just warm up some water close to boiling point and pour it sideways on the lid. The materials of the lid will expand or the product stuck in there will dissolve a bit and it'll open easily. Use a cloth to open it, this will increase friction so it's easier to open and it'll protect your skin. I've done this with oil paint tubes (those are the worst), normal paints, a bottle of vitrox solvent, literal glue.... it works with most stuff :) Edit: Both are such transformations! But I want that mirror! So aesthetic haha
@danielleboon15434 жыл бұрын
I use danish oil often at work. That stuff dries into a tarry sludge. If you give it a few taps with a hammer (or screwdriver handle), it’ll usually dislodge. Or pry off the plastic cap and use a wrench. I’ve never had to resort to putting holes in the can, and some of those have been used only a few tablespoons at a time.

My vote goes for the cabinet! It may be tall for some but it keeps the adult drinks out of reach.... plus it would look amazing in my home. I even have the perfect vintage woven baskets, that hold my throws, that would slide underneath perfectly! Well done both of you! More of this please!!

You both did such a good job!! But I’d have to vote Becky, she seriously turned that boring mirror around!

Love this video! Also wanted to say that the “audio in the studio” did not bother me, nor did I even notice 🤩

You guys have to do more videos like this one. Its so thrilling watching you guys go looking for something to upcycle. And you both get my vote they are amazing and complement each other.

I feel like Kelsey could have added some like golden more detailed handles or something like that to make have more detail and make the cabinet look fancier.

"Started from the bottom, now we're here" got a whole new meaning realizing that he meant a massive mansion in one of the most expensive cities in the world, especially when it comes to real estate 🤣

Damn. I can't choose. They were both very well done. Also: More of this, please.

Mirror is great, but, too fancy, for me. I love the bar. Great job ladies

I have to vote for Becky because it was so beautiful how she had transformed it! Kelsey’s was great too but it still looked really top heavy. You should add more of the pegs below and insert a floating shelf, I think that would really help balance it, maybe stain the insert shelf really dark to make a statement or insert slots for hanging wine glasses you would still have a shelf and a bonus is hanging wine glasses! Super cute projects girls!😊❤️

LOVED THIS EPISODE! I am a garbage up-cycler myself so really appreciated this video. Both projects turned out gorg! My heart loved the mirror slightly more than the cabinet :) keep 'em coming please - love your work - girl power!

You're finally thrift flipping again, yay!!! Watching this and glance over to the mirror I curbside-shopped and realize it just needs a coat of paint to be the Gleaming Primrose Mirror! Classic French mixed with Mid Century Modern is a vibe!!! Love your creativity. You both won!! 🥳🥳

I used to do close protection for a lot of the houses on the bridle path and I’m shocked no one stopped you guys 😅🤣

Love the mid century cabinet! I would definitely put that in my house. Yes, the legs seem a little long, but any shorter and the cabinet would be too low to use comfortably.

I like how y'all challenge yourselves and each other. Both items look fabulous. I learn a lot from watching your renos. Keep it up, ladies! Happy New Year!

I literally can't pick a winner. You both did such an amazing job. The mirror is probably the biggest transformation, but the cabinet is fantastic, too. Muah. Chef's kiss.
