Al. You should consider building a carport along the side of the shop. To park the tractors and equipment under to protect everything somewhat. It definitely helps. Hope everyone has a blessed weekend.

Al, I recall that when you bought the first TYM, some commented that you'll need a larger one for your property. Glad you made the upgrade. 😊 Then, I keep thinking about that flail mower. You've mentioned that is the most budget friendly one, but seeing all the problems you've had, it might have been better to buy one that's more stout. I'm not a farmer, but I bought my second lawn tractor 20 years ago and went with the top lawn tractor from the company due to more features and a thicker mowing deck. I'm finishing my 21st cutting season with it. I did have to get a new deck stamping in 2023 and moved everything over due to rot. I'm so glad I bought better than I thought I needed.

For tractor implements... definitely would prioritize a quality PTO wood chipper given your location and circumstances. The ability to create animal bedding, as well as a supplement to your growing pastures (woodchips) and for gardening would be a huge benefit, and you have so much forest surrounding and on your property there is always a mess of blowdown and other tree materials from clearing, it would really make a lot of sense to invest sooner rather than later, especially now that you increased the PTO HP by 50% compared to your older tractor.

Al, check out the two kinds of round bales possible. One type makes the 7'+ diameter round bales. Works well with big herds. But there is another that makes bales less than 3' diameter. More flexable with tight places and small diverse herds. You needed something bigger, not only for hay making, but also to repair extreme rain damage to your roads. You have a lot of roads. And creeks, you now have the option of clearing about 10' of creek bed every 10-20 yrs.

Al don't put in a blue bulb. Put in a red or green. Red is best as it affects your night vision the least. Blue effects your night vision the most. Military use green for night vision goggles because contour lines on maps are red. So we prefer to see on a map if there is a 200 ft cliff or flat ground. But red is the best to help retain your natural night vision.

Good morning Lumnah family from a still dark morning here in the Pacific Northwest. Good morning viewers. Scott's Recreation bringing you another TYM! So this can run haying equipment not at it's horsepower limit! I think that is a good idea to have more horsepower! You'll be making silage with the hay. I like the self leveling for it for your forks. Yay, no DEF! I don't hear the whine when you raise the bucket either. I like that the non-hydrostatic because it is much less whiny. Al, now that you have the larger tractor, you should take the heavy cutter off your smaller tractor when not using it. Good morning Lumnah Family and Friends! Hope everyone has an awesome weekend! You can't fool me, Al. You just hated changing implements so much, you'd rather have one tractor for one thing, the other for something else! (smile!) Great new machine - a wonderful addition to the homestead. Good going! There's probably a setting to change the speedometer from KMH to MPH, I'd wager...

@@samvalentine3206 I think your mistaken Sam, ( pretty-sure ) cause the first TYM was traded-in _ traded-up, Gina runs the Kubota tho ! I'm sure that Al and/or Gina haven't been maintaining the yard ( spending time ) at other homestead, a wild guess of mine' is that, it is rented out, with the exception of the most recent shed built before they moved, and maybe the basement storage items, ( those things better kept indoors ) and again my guessing' the other homestead couldn't attract potential sale value absent a back porch, cause a realtor wouldn't list-it, plus' their is 2 more Acres untouched that would benefit by making access with Culvert or Bridge, and then it could attract maximum potential value ! Problem is Al doesn't have time to spend there and doesn't like to hire someone to do work that he likes doing ! I cannot imagine that high tunnel Greenhouse just sitting empty, for years, so maybe extended Family rents-it, my guess is rented to a trustworthy person from Littleton, it wouldn't make sense for it to be moth-balled and some stuff is still there ( underroof ) whereas equipment on new homestead is still kept outside unprotected from the weather !

@@josephg2553 Joseph; To Al it is all about Modern Homesteading, and being off grid, So buy expensive Solar Array and never spend money on utility bills, then buy and Process Animals, for food, then buy and equip Greenhouses, to feed people and animals, then after building 3 Barns and first Shop after building Shipping Container Apartment and then Harvest House, all in the last Three Years, the underroof for equipment is now higher in priority, just not yet started, hopefully before winter after this Winter, the Shop getting a similar woodburner and wood shed to accommodate heating Shop for this Winter' is ahead of protecting the Tractor who's attachments needs underroof shelter more than the Vehicle itself, because things can easily get buried in Snow or Frozen to ground, All Priorities require scrutiny, it just requires the process of evaluating !

Congratulations on the upgrade you’re getting the power to make a big difference for your equipment. This is the beginning of the journey of farming. The other is lawn and garden maintenance more so than Hay, plowing, and grading. Good job 👍 Well you asked. I was thinking about the areas that have not been cut, the trees are getting big and almost too big to cut with a brush hog. And if you’re planning to plant anything
