I don't like the way they nerfed Play Rough. I think it (along with Shadow Sneak) needed to do less damage and the Invincible should've been replaced with Unstoppable and maybe some damage reduction. Like you said, not being able to combo with it anymore doesn't feel great. Tsareena also started performing considerably worse when they increased her cooldowns. Mons that depend on comboing need lower cooldowns while dealing less damage with them.

Use shadow claw if you need a combo. Play rough was awful to play against

@@manulopez4697 but as spragels showed in this vid, the invincibility and amount of damage the move does is actually still too strong and not very fun to play against. I wanted a nerf that was good for both mimikyu and those playing against it. The nerfs we got were really neither in my eyes but realistically benefited mimikyu much more than those playing against him.

It's not too strong - you just need defenders or all rounders to take the hit instead. Defenders are a hard counter because it takes about 4 play roughs to kill them and mimikyu is vulnerable for 7seconds after using it! If attackers/speedsters are caught however... yeah they get ripped to shreds. So defenders need to do their job. @@tigertanzy Shadow claw still has value because it has a tiny cooldown and heals mimikyu everytime it hits. So mimikyu actually does really nice brawling into defenders and out healing their damage with claw. Both movesets have value and different strengths/weaknesses which is nice.

Can't wait for draft mode next year when we'll actually have the chance to make mon, build and item decisions knowing what we're up against ahead of time. For example, I run Razor on Shadow Claw Mimikyu but not on Play Rough so it'll definitely help with issues like that.

If they remove invincibility from play rough it will go back to being worthless. Mimikyu needs it or else only shadow claw would be used on her since she would get melted by burst and tanks during the move. They gave it invincibility knowing this so she could do her job without worrying too much about cc and burst damage. IF you wanna complain about anything complain about CC and defenders being over the top broken. CC and defenders are so good its a tank meta right now.

A lot of brawlers have to deal with this so instead of being invincible they just get a shield or cc. Imagine having invincibility on something like ancient power instead of what ttar has now. There are better ways of dealing with this than giving a mon invincibility. Invincibility should be a last resort, if anything, because of how insane that is.

I agree with you completely but so many people don't understand this like you do. I have seen so many saying damage reduction during teh move would be enough but it wouldn't be. Invincibility really should only be a last resort. Play Rough has needed reworking since release because of how much more shadow claw usually tends to offer in utility overall. I think a shield and some cc invulnerability would have been better for playrough as an interaction and maybe one other gimmick to seperate it from shadow claw. @@MusicComet
