Welcome to another episode of Trailmakers! Today we are doing an evolution plane race! We have 2 minutes to build a plane and race them. Whichever plane wins becomes the new default plane for everyone to build off of and modify. We get another 2mins to improve after each race, taking the winning plane to improve on each time. Whoever does the best at improving the builds wins!

Trailmakers is about building very awesome vehicles and machines, but you don’t need an engineering degree to get started. The intuitive builder will get you going in no time. Everything you build is made from physical building blocks. Each block has unique features like shape, weight and functionality. They can be broken off, refitted and used to build something new. Individually the blocks are fairly simple, but combined the possibilities are endless.
Expedition Mode is the challenging campaign mode of Trailmakers. You are competing in an off-world rally expedition with only a few building blocks to get you started. You must build, tinker with and rebuild your machine to progress. Journey through a big world, overcome deep gorges, angry wildlife and dangerous weather to progress and find new parts that will juice up your machine. The world in Expedition Mode will test your survival skills and ingenuity.
Sandbox Mode is where you want to head for an unrestricted, sandbox, vehicle-building experience. Here you can build anything you can dream of, and play around with it in the world of Trailmakers. It is a great place to test out crazy machines, and experiment with the physics engine. With tons of different blocks, hinges, thrusters and interactive vehicle parts - the skybox is the limit.
Trailmakers is even more fun if you play it with other people. Build cool vehicles and compete in mini-game modes with your friends or other Trailmakers online. Build a helicopter, send it to your friend, and shoot them out of the sky. Put two seats on a tank, and let your friend control the turret. As we get further in Early Access development Expedition Mode will also be adapted to multiplayer.

Do an evolution with missiles, where the missile that goes the farthest wins. Everyone takes the winning missile, but everyone keeps their missile launch system. You can add two power cores per evolution, but you can have three for the first evolution.

Use a bearing to literally lift one wing up and the other down. I did that in survival mode of trail makers and it worked Also next time do birbs but everyone is stuck with their own vehicle, not the winners one By birbs I mean bionic planes that work like birds

The steering hinges have less angle the faster you go to prevent oversteer, it works well for planes too

I watched this multiple times and I just realized scrapman could've probably made the first plane go at a consistent speed by zigzagging the plane at high bank angles to force stall while remaining full power.

Evolution Idea: Monster Truck Evolution using the same rules as the others so far, however the wheels have to be the same for every one and change for each stage (smallest wheel for the initial build but ending on the biggest wheel in the final stage). You'd start with something that's more like a rally car but end up with a Monster Truck. To make it a little easier maybe have it so that the wheels get changed before or after the build phase.

I have a suggestion! But its a little difficult to explain, I'll try my best. Evolution race but its continuous. The players needs to finish a number of laps (depends on how long u want the race to be) At the start, the players can take as long as they can to build but they can also take off and start the race whenever they want, You gotta be fast though or you'll be at last place! After they finish a lap they can evolve their vehicles, again you can take as long as you want, You gotta change something on ur vehicle to continue. Don't take too long on building tho cuz others might catch up. Reach laps and evolve until the end, the first person to finish wins of course! I hope you guys try this out!

A fun idea would be to trade the vehicles before upgrading. In other words: first place takes and upgrades the second place vehicle second place takes and upgrades the third place vehicle all the way down to last place who gets the first place vehicle to upgrade (since they need the help)

i have an idea for future evolution/deevolution races: i call it mutation, basically at the end of each evolution the player in last place can eliminate a piece, so for example lets say kan got in last place on the first evolution he could eliminate small wheels, meaning everyone (kan included) would have to replace or remove the small wheels and they cannot be added back for the entire race

Hey, that de-evolve idea Kan proposed could be cool. Of course you need to make the best vehicle but what if, and this is a big if because I doubt Scrapman will take this idea. You start with the maximum amount of power cores but slowly reduce the amount each round, you need to get the best score with your vehicle and it's works the same. Maybe the time to de-evolve your creations could be longer than the time taken to evolve because removing parts will be difficult.

Scrapman, loved the prop bike design in i think round 2. Shame you didn't have more time. A design like that it's better to have a balanced lift. Directly CoM, either wings in the center or the mini wings on both ends by the props

One thing you guys could do is a "Rally" type race. Air, Water, and Land. You have to build planes, cars and boats. You get 5 races for each. Start with 3 power cores per vehicle. Every race, the power core goes up by 1 and you have to combine the best parts of the losing vehicles into your vehicle. No weapons allowed for any of the races.
